This Bundeswehr folding spade is a new production according to the Technical Delivery Conditions (TL). Thus, it is not a cheap replica, but a stable product, as one is used to from the proven tool with its 3-part design.
The spade blade made of hardened steel is pointed and features a slight sawtooth on 2 edges, making it suitable for most soil types and capable of handling roots. Typical for this spade is the rotary lock, which allows the blade to be locked in 2 positions relative to the handle - thus enabling use as a spade/shovel or hoe. When folded, the spade fits into the supplied plastic case with belt/strap attachments (ALICE Clips).

Bei diesem Bundeswehr Klappspaten handelt es sich um eine Neufertigung nach den Technischen Lieferbedingungen (TL). Damit handelt es sich nicht um einen billigen Nachbau, sondern um ein stabiles Produkt, wie man es von dem bewährten Werkzeug mit seiner 3-teiligen Ausführung gewohnt ist.
Das Spatenblatt aus gehärteten Stahl ist spitz zulaufend und verfügt über eine leichte Sägezahnung an 2 Kanten, wodurch es sich für die meisten Bodenarten eignet und auch mit Wurzeln fertig wird. Typisch für diesen Spaten ist der Drehverschluss, durch welchen sich das Blatt in 2 Positionen relativ zum Griff arretieren lässt - somit ist eine Nutzung als Spaten/Schaufel oder Hacke möglich.
Zusammengeklappt passt der Spaten in die mitgelieferte Kunststoffhülle mit Gürtel-/Koppelbefestigungen (ALICE Clips).
