This Bundeswehr folding spade is a new production according to the Technical Delivery Conditions (TL). Thus, it is not a cheap replica, but a stable product, as one is used to from the proven tool with its 3-part design.

The spade blade made of hardened steel is pointed and features a slight sawtooth on 2 edges, making it suitable for most soil types and capable of handling roots. Typical for this spade is the rotary lock, which allows the blade to be locked in 2 positions relative to the handle - thus enabling use as a spade/shovel or hoe. When folded, the spade fits into the supplied plastic case with belt/strap attachments (ALICE Clips).
