The Smith & Wesson Performance Center SW1911 4.25" is a compact 1911 variant and a modern interpretation of the classic "Commander" models. Tuned at the factory in the Performance Center, S&W's in-house tuning shop, this firearm offers a more compact platform than a standard "Government" 1911 but still uses the standard grip and magazines. The grip is made from "Scandium," a scandium-aluminum alloy, making it significantly lighter than a steel grip while maintaining high strength. Additionally, the slide is kept lighter through generous cutouts. The entire system has been revised, including a polished feed ramp, a precisely recessed muzzle, and a round bushing that ensure excellent precision.
Other high-quality features include fine yet aggressive checkering on the grip with over 30 lines per inch and ambidextrous safety. The beavertail is enlarged, allowing for a high grip and easier one-handed relaxation.
A compact 1911 with familiar functionality, it is suitable for hunters as a backup weapon, especially for those who appreciate the 1911 design and its handling. With enough energy thanks to the .45 ACP "fat and slow."

Die Smith & Wesson Performance Center SW1911 4,25" ist eine kompakte 1911er Variante und moderne Interpretation der klassischen "Commander" Modelle. Ab Werk getunt im Performance Center, der hauseigenen Tuning-Werkstatt von S&W, bietet diese Waffe eine kompaktere Plattform als eine Standard "Government" 1911 aber verwendet weiterhin das normale Griffstück und die normalen Magazine. Das Griffstück ist aus "Scandium" gefertigt, einer Scandium-Aluminiumlegierung, und damit deutlich leichter als ein Stahlgriffstück bei hoher Festigkeit. Zusätzlich ist der Schlitten durch großzügige Aussparungen leichter gehalten. Das ganze System wurde überarbeitet, inklusiver einer polierten Zuführrampe, eine präzise angesenkte Mündung und ein rundes Bushing sorgen für eine ausgezeichnete Präzision.
Weitere hochwertige features umfassen das feine aber agressive Checkering auf dem Griffstück mit über 30 Linien pro Zoll und die beidseitige Sicherung. Der Beavertail ist vergrößert und erlaubt einen hohen Griff und leichteres einhändiges Entspannen.
Eine kompakte 1911er in gewohnter Funktion, die sich auf Grund der Abmessung für den Jäger als Fangschusswaffe anbietet, der das 1911er Design und deren Handhabung zu schätzen weiß. Mit genug Energie dank der .45 ACP "fat and slow".
