John Lee Goemon Katana with a sharp blade made of 9260 carbon spring steel (not stainless) suitable for cutting tests, including certificate and saya. Crafted according to museum templates.

Ishikawa Goemon, a Japanese folklore hero. Similar to Robin Hood, he is said to have stolen from the rich and given to the poor. The tsuba depicts Goemon at his execution after a woodblock print by Toyokuni Ichiyoai. Along with other motifs, his name is also found on the fuchi in Japanese script.

Ishikawa Goemon ein japanischer Folklore-Held. Ähnlich wie Robin Hood soll er die Reichen bestohlen und es den Armen gegeben haben. Die Tsuba zeigt Goemon bei seiner Hinrichtung nach einem Holzstich von Toyokuni Ichiyoai. Neben weiteren Motiven findet sich auf dem Fuchi auch sein Name in japanischer Schrift.
