For sale is a sidearm 84/98, model III, which is presented in an appealing condition.
The blade is equipped with a fuller and features a guard plate on the back of the grip. The dark wooden grip scales, presumably walnut, suggest an early production between 1934 and 1937 or a late "Last-Ditch" production from 1943/44.
The blade shows good bluing (black protective layer), while the scabbard exhibits more significant signs of aging and corrosion.
The knife comes from the manufacturer E. U.F. Hörster and is dated to around 1940. If interested or if you have any questions, feel free to get in touch!

(Show description in original language)Zum Verkauf steht ein Seitengewehr 84/98, Modell III, das sich in einem ansprechenden Zustand präsentiert.
Die Klinge ist mit einer Hohlkehle versehen und verfügt über ein Feuerschutzblech am Griffrücken. Die dunklen Griffschalen aus Holz, vermutlich Nussbaum, deuten auf eine frühe Fertigung zwischen 1934 und 1937 oder eine späte "Last-Ditch"-Produktion ab 1943/44 hin.
Die Klinge weist eine gute Brünierung (schwarze Schutzschicht) auf, während die Scheide stärkere Altersspuren und Korrosion zeigt.
Das Messer stammt vom Hersteller E. U.F. Hörster und wird auf ca. 1940 datiert. Bei Interesse oder Fragen gerne melden!
