Edgar Budischowsky was born in 1940 and completed an apprenticeship as a gunsmith in Ferlach. From 1964 to 1969, he worked at the proof house in Ulm before he began designing his own handguns starting in 1968. What distinguished him was his perspective. Not merely as tools, but as mechanical puzzles. Precision instruments with infinite potential for improvement. A mindset that allows no shortcuts. The TP-70. The compact, semi-automatic pistol developed in the late 1960s was a kind of "pocket rocket" – slim, small, and available in .22 LR and .25 ACP calibers. It was unassuming but clever. Solid construction, intelligent safety features, and just the right dose of innovation to attract attention. And it did. In fact, it caught the attention of people in America, leading to the TP-70 being licensed and sold in the USA under the Norton (NORARMCO) brand. This was Budischowsky's first encounter with international attention. After the TP-70 crossed the Atlantic, it was manufactured with lower precision and from cheaper materials – basically everything Budischowsky despised. No wonder he withdrew. For him, it was not about quantities or market shares. It was about the work – the craftsmanship, the feeling, the perfect click of interlocking parts. Korriphila was actually not a company in the conventional sense. There were no large factories, no mass production, no elaborate marketing campaigns. Rather, it was Budischowsky's personal workshop with a nameplate. A one-man operation where each weapon was crafted slowly, methodically, and precisely according to his specifications. Korriphila, a play on words with "corre" (to correct, to perfect) and "philia" (love for something). Less than 400 pieces. That is the total production over decades. In some years, production barely reached double digits.

Edgar Budischowsky wurde 1940 geboren und absolvierte eine Ausbildung zum Büchsenmacher in Ferlach. 1964 bis 1969 arbeitete er beim Beschussamt in Ulm, bevor er sich ab 1968 mit der Konstruktion eigener Kurzwaffen beschäftigte. Was ihn auszeichnete, war seine Sichtweise. Nicht bloß als Werkzeuge, sondern als mechanische Rätsel. Präzisionsinstrumente mit unendlichem Verbesserungspotenzial. Eine Denkweise, die keine Abkürzungen zulässt. Die TP-70. Die kompakte, halbautomatische Pistole, die Ende der 1960er-Jahre entwickelt wurde, war eine Art „Taschenrakete“ – schlank, klein und in den Kalibern .22 LR und .25 ACP erhältlich. Sie war nicht auffällig, aber clever. Solide Konstruktion, intelligente Sicherheitsmerkmale und genau die richtige Dosis Innovation, um Aufmerksamkeit zu erregen. Und das tat es auch. Tatsächlich erregte es die Aufmerksamkeit der Leute in Amerika, was dazu führte, dass die TP-70 in den USA unter der Marke Norton (NORARMCO) lizenziert und verkauft wurde. Es gab keine großen Fabriken, keine Massenproduktion, keine ausgeklügelten Marketingkampagnen. Vielmehr war es Budischowskys persönliche Werkstatt mit einem Namensschild. Ein Ein-Mann-Betrieb, in dem jede Waffe langsam, methodisch und genau nach seinen Vorstellungen gefertigt wurde.
