The Mauser SR 83, also known as Mauser 83 Sport, is a specialized sport and sniper rifle with a cylinder lock. This weapon is valued today in the collector and used firearms market, as its production was discontinued in the 1980s. It was developed as an intermediate model between the Mauser 66 and the Mauser 86SR and is known for its precision and robust construction.
The SR 83 is an original (due to precision) single-shot rifle with a heavy, fluted barrel approximately 65 cm long and uses the caliber .308 Winchester (7.62 × 51 mm NATO). The stock is made of synthetic or laminated wood and is often equipped with an adjustable cheek rest. Die Mauser SR 83, auch bekannt als Mauser 83 Sport, ist ein spezialisiertes Sport- und Scharfschützengewehr mit Zylinderverschluss.
