The Cugir WS1-63 - 7.62x39 is a semi-automatic rifle based on the Kalashnikov system. It is produced by Cugir Arms in Romania. Romanian AKs have a long tradition in the country's armed forces and have been exported to numerous states. The WS1-63 and WS1-64 (with folding stock) are the most authentic civilian AKM clones available today. The appearance of the weapon is completely in line with the AKM from the 1960s, when the production of AK47-type weapons began throughout the Eastern Bloc using the more efficient sheet metal stamping technique. All typical AK features are present, and the wooden stock completes the picture. Thus, this Romanian AK in terms of manufacturing, appearance, and function corresponds to a semi-automatic AKM from the Cold War era and is a piece of history. It can also be easily converted to AKMs from other Warsaw Pact states, such as the MPi KM of the NVA with the typical brown plastic parts or to the MPi KMS-72 with a folding stock. All military magazines fit (e.g., old stock), but the weapons are delivered with a 10-round steel magazine, in accordance with the applicable 3rd amendment to the Weapons Act.

Die Cugir WS1-63 - 7.62x39 ist eine halbautomatische Büchse nach dem Kalaschnikow System. Sie wird von Cugir Arms in Rumänien produziert. Rumänische AKs haben eine lange Tradition in den Streitkräften des Landes und wurden in zahlreiche Staaten exportiert. Die WS1-63 und WS1-64 (mit klappbarer Schulterstütze) sind die authentischsten zivilen AKM-Klone die man heute bekommen kann. Die Anmutung der Waffe entspricht völlig der AKM aus den 60er Jahren, als man begann Waffen des Typs AK47 überall im Ostblock im der effizienteren Blechprägetechnik zu fertigen. Alle typischen AK Merkmale sind vorhanden und die Holzschäftung rundet das Bild ab. Somit entspricht diese rumänische AK in Fertigung, Anmutung und Funktion einer semi-automatischen AKM aus der Zeit des Kalten Krieges und ist ein Stück Geschichte. Sie lässt sich zudem sehr gut zu AKMs anderer Warschauer Pakt Staaten umbauen, wie etwa zu MPi KM der NVA mit den typischen braunen Kunststoffteilen oder auch zur MPi KMS-72 mit Klappbarer Schulterstütze. Alle militärischen Magazine passen (z.B. Altbesitz), ausgeliefert werden die Waffen jedoch mit 10 Schuss Stahlmagazin, entsprechend der geltenden 3. Waffengesetzänderung.
Die Cugir WS1-63 ist nicht für das sportliche Schießen zugelassen!
