The Magpul PMAG Gen M3 Window is the current version and the third generation of the groundbreaking AR magazines. Hardly any manufacturer does not include these magazines as OEM with their firearms, and several militaries issue the PMAGs in various generations as standard equipment or allow decentralized procurement. Generation 3 was introduced in 2012 and replaces the EMAG, which was specifically made for "non-American" firearms like the L85A2 and HK 416 (MR223). Thus, the PMAG Gen M3 is compatible with effectively all firearms that use the AR15 magazine standard (STANAG 4179).

There is not much to say about these magazines: They are extremely robust, extremely reliable, and extremely durable. Made from high-strength polymer, the magazines withstand stresses that would destroy classic steel and aluminum magazines. They do not bend, there are no dents or corrosion. Particularly noteworthy: The magazine lips cannot bend, making many feed malfunctions simply impossible with these magazines. The modern springs made from rust-resistant chrome-silicon spring steel are durable and withstand longer periods in a loaded state and thousands of loading cycles - but it should be noted that the manufacturer does not recommend storing the magazines loaded. The viewing window allows for a quick check of the loading status. The transparent plastic of the window is non-reflective. Color-marked coils on the spring indicate when there are only a few rounds left in the magazine. Made from self-lubricating material, the follower is designed for absolute reliability - if there are feeding issues, one can assume that it is not the magazine's fault. The special shape of the "follower" prevents the cartridges from tilting, and together with the constant curve of the magazine, a consistent feed is guaranteed - whether in semi-automatic or fully automatic operation or whether there are 3 or 30 rounds in the magazine.
Other features of the PMAG Gen M3 include the "paint dot matrix" above the magazine base, allowing magazines to be marked or personalized as needed. The textured surface provides stability and a secure grip under all conditions. The magazine base is slightly raised compared to the magazine body to give the pulling hand a secure hold - but at the same time, it is slim enough for the magazine to fit easily into 2 or 3 magazine pouches. Disassembling the magazine can be done without tools; a ballpoint pen or a cartridge is completely sufficient - long fingernails can also be used, but this is not recommended.

Das Magpul PMAG Gen M3 Window ist die aktuelle Ausführung und die Dritte Generation der wegweisenden AR-Magazine. Kaum ein Hersteller, der diese Magazine nicht als OEM seinen Waffen beilegt und mehrere Militärs geben die PMAGs in verschiedenen Generationen als dienstlich geliefert aus oder erlauben die dezentrale Beschaffung. Die Generation 3 wurde 2012 eingeführt und ersetzt das EMAG, welches speziell für "un-amerikanische" Waffen wie das L85A2 und HK 416 (MR223) gefertigt wurde.
Damit ist das PMAG Gen M3 kompatibel mit effektiv allen Waffen, welche den AR15 Magazinstandard (STANAG 4179) benutzen.

Es gibt zu diesen Magazinen nicht viel zu sagen: Sie sind äußerst robust, äußerst zuverlässig und äußerst langlebig.
Gefertigt aus hochfesten Polymer überstehen die Magazine Belastungen welche klassische Stahlblech- und Aluminiummagazine zerstören würden. Sie verbiegen nicht, es gibt keine Dellen oder Korrosion. Besonders hervorzuheben: Die Magazinlippen können nicht verbiegen, dadurch sind viele Zufuhrstörungen bei diesen Magazinen einfach nicht möglich. Die modernen Federn aus rostträgen Chrom-Silikon-Federstahl sind langlebig und überstehen auch längere Perioden im geladenen Zustand und tausende von Ladezyklen - aber es ist zu beachten, dass der Hersteller es nicht empfiehlt die Magazine geladen zu lagern. Das Sichtfenster erlaubt eine schnelle Kontrolle des Ladezustandes. Der transparente Kunststoff der Fenster ist nicht reflektierend. Farblich markierte Windungen auf der Feder informieren darüber, wenn sich nur noch wenige Schuss im Magazin befinden. Gefertigt aus selbstschmierendem Material ist der Zuführer auf absolute Zuverlässigkeit ausgelegt - wenn es Ladehemmungen gibt, kann man davon ausgehen, dass es nicht am Magazin liegt. Die besondere Form des "Followers" verhindert ein verkanten der Patronen, zusammen mit der Konstantkurve des Magazines ist eine immergleiche Zuführung gewährleistet - egal ob halb- oder vollautomatischer Betrieb oder ob sich 3 oder 30 Schuss im Magazin befinden.
Weitere Features des PMAG Gen M3 sind die "paint dot matrix" über dem Magazinboden, dadurch können Magazine nach Bedarf markiert oder personalisiert werden. Die strukturierte Oberfläche sorgt für Stabilität und den sicheren Griff unter allen Bedingungen. Der Magazinboden ist leicht erhaben gegenüber dem Magazinkörper um der ziehenden Hand sicheren Halt zu geben - aber gleichzeitig ist er schlank genug, damit das Magazin problemlos in 2er oder 3er Magazintaschen passt. Das Zerlegen das Magazins kann ohne Werkzeuge erfolgen, ein Kugelschreiber oder eine Patrone reicht vollkommen aus - es können auch lange Fingernägel benutzt, dies ist allerdings nicht empfohlen.
