The Extrema Ratio CONTACT RANGER in hunting green is a well-thought-out tactical knife that is also perfectly suited as a catch knife. The blade in a spear-point design somewhat resembles a bayonet with its flat grind. The integrated blood groove further streamlines the design and reduces weight. To protect the hand from accidental cuts, a guard is placed at the bottom of the handle (of course with an integrated eyelet), and for improved handling, the front top of the handle is textured.
The blade is made of Böhler N690 steel with a hardness of 58 HRC - making this all-purpose outdoor knife equipped for almost anything. The handle is made of lightweight and non-slip Forprene and is mounted on a shaft made of conical, stainless steel, which makes it solid and perfectly balanced.
What one must take a closer look at with this knife is the outstanding knife sheath: it is designed minimally, with the main shell made of impact-resistant nylon injection molded. The secondary retention system can be converted for both left- and right-handed users, as always ingeniously solved. The retention system is designed so that the knife can be quickly released, yet holds very well when carried. Especially on the stalk, one wants to avoid unnecessary noises, which is why a special system has been integrated into the horizontal slots of the sheath to fix the blade and thus eliminate rattling noises. The back of the nylon sheath is of course MOLLE compatible. A thigh strap is also included.
Conclusion: the Extrema Ratio CONTACT RANGER green is a sleek knife that is made for hunting: slim in design, yet lightweight and highly durable. Additionally, the perfectly developed sheath for silent use and quick release while still ensuring safe storage. Absolutely a recommendation for purchase!

Das Extrema Ratio CONTACT RANGER in jagdlichem grün ist ein durchdachtes Einsatzmesser, das auch perfekt als Abfangmesser geeignet ist. Die Klinge im lanzenförmigen Design erinnert ein bisschen an ein Bajonett mit seinem Flachschliff. die eingesetzte Blutrinne verschlankt das Design zusätzlich und erleichtert das Gewicht. Um die Hand vor einem versehentlichen Schnitt zu schützen ist unten am Griff ein Guard eingesetzt (natürlich mit eingesetzter Öse), für verbessertes Handling ist der Griff oben vorne mit einer Riffelung versehen.
Die Klinge besteht aus Böhler N690 Stahl mit einer Härte von 58 HRC - damit ist dieses Allzweck-Outdoormesser für fast alles gerüstet. Der Griff ist aus leichtem und rutschfestem Forprene gefertigt und sitzt auf einen Schaft aus kegelstumpfförmigem, rostfreiem Stahl, der ihn massiv macht. und das Messer damit perfekt ausbalanciert.
Worauf man bei diesem Messer unbedingt näher eingesehen muss ist die herausragende Messerscheide: Sie ist minimalistisch gestaltet, die Hauptschale aus stoßfestem Nylon spritzgegossen. Das sekundäre Rückhaltesystem ist sowohl für Links- und Rechtshänder umrüstbar, wie immer genial gelöst. Das Haltesystem ist so konzipiert dass das Messer schnell gelöst werden kann, es aber beim Tragen sehr gut hält. Gerade auf der Pirsch will man unnötige Geräusche vermeiden, daher wurde in den horizontalen Schlitzen der Scheide ein spezielles System integriert um die Klinge zu fixieren und damit Schüttelgeräusche zu eliminieren. Die Rückseite der Nylonscheide ist selbstverständlich MOLLE kompatibel. Ein Oberschenkelband gibts auch dazu.
Fazit: das Extrema Ratio CONTACT RANGER grün ist ein schlankes Messer, das für die Jagd wie gemacht ist: schlank um Design, dennoch leicht und hochbelastbar. Dazu die perfekt entwickelte Scheide für den lautlosen Einsatz und schnelles Lösen bei dennoch sicherer Verwahrung. Absolut eine Kaufempfehlung!
