The Barnes Pioneer product family is optimized for hunting use in lever-action rifles and revolvers. Equipped with the lead-free TSX (long gun caliber) or XPB (handgun caliber) projectiles, it is suitable for all hunting grounds in Germany. Both projectiles have been proven for a long time, and the TSX, on which the shorter XPD is based, has been a popular projectile among European hunters for years, promising good game meat utilization due to its terminal ballistics. The Pioneer cartridges offer good energy yield from the barrels of lever-action rifles - especially in classic revolver calibers like .357 Mag. or .44 Mag, this load allows you to achieve significantly more performance from your lever-action rifle than with other products.
The Barnes Pioneer .357 Magnum XPD 140gr is a powerful cartridge for use in finishing shots or on small game, except for roe deer. With over 1,000 Joules at the muzzle from a rifle, this load is very strong and clearly emphasizes its intended use.

At 100m, the projectile has about 710J - impressive, but unfortunately not sufficient for roe deer.

Barnes is one of the leading names in hunting projectiles. Fred Barnes began selling self-manufactured projectiles in Colorado in 1932. In 1974, he sold the company to Randy and Coni Brooks, and the company moved to Utah. In 1986, the prototype of the lead-free X-Bullet was introduced, which came to market in 1989 and demonstrated that lead-free hunting ammunition is also practical. Today, Barnes is one of the most well-known manufacturers of hunting projectiles worldwide and has recently started producing complete cartridges, naturally equipped with projectiles from its own production.

Die Barnes Pioneer Produktfamilie ist optimiert für die jagdliche Verwendung in Unterhebelrepetierern und Revolvern. Ausgestattet mit dem bleifreien TSX (Langwaffenkaliber) oder XPB (Kurzwaffenkaliber) Geschossen ist es auch in Deutschland für alle Reviere geeignet. Beide Geschosse sind seit langem bewährt und das TSX, auf welchem das kürzere XPD basiert, ist seit Jahren auch auf bei europäischen Jägern ein beliebtes Geschoss welches aufgrund seiner Terminalballistik eine gute Wildbret Verwertung verspricht. Die Pioneer Patronen bieten eine gute Energieausbeute aus den Läufen von Unterhebelrepetierern - gerade in klassischen Revolverkalibern wie .357 Mag. oder .44 Mag kann man mit dieser Laborierung aus seinem UHR deutlich mehr Leistung herausholen als mit anderen Produkten.
Die Barnes Pioneer .357 Magnum XPD 140gr ist eine starke Patrone für den Einsatz bei Fangschuss oder auf Niederwild, ausser Rehwild. Mit über 1.000 Joule an der Mündung aus einem Gewehr, ist diese Laborierung sehr stark und unterstreicht damit deutlich den Einsatzzweck.
