The Colt 1911 Government Dual Recoil Spring Guide is an OEM replacement part for classic Colt 1911 pistols and most replicas. This recoil guide rod corresponds to the original "short" models and can be used with the Colt Dual Recoil Springs.

The Recoil Spring Guide is manufactured to MilSpec and therefore fits nearly all 1911 & 1991 models available on the market.

In 1836, Samuel Colt received the US patent for the first Colt firearm and built his first factory. In 1847, Samuel H. Walker collaborated with Colt and the US Army to develop a stronger revolver known as the Walker. In 1867, COLT introduced its first Gatling Gun. In 1873, the Single Action Army Revolver was introduced, securing Colt a contract with the US government. In 1911, the "Model 1911" was officially adopted by the US government as a service weapon.
