The Springfield Kuna is a new PCC (pistol caliber carbine) from HS Produkts. Produced in Croatia and distributed to civilians by Springfield USA, this pistol carbine is a modern and lightweight handgun in caliber 9mm Luger. Originally designed as a military PDW, a compact submachine gun, this model with a 5.5" barrel is a semi-automatic pistol.
The special feature of the design is a roller lock, specifically a delayed roller lock, similar to the famous weapons from HK, especially the MP5. This locking mechanism provides the weapon with a more pleasant recoil behavior and makes it more comfortable to shoot than a PCC with a pure, undamped mass lock.
The complete upper receiver is made from a single piece of aluminum, with a continuous Picatinny rail at 12 o'clock and 2 rows of M-LOK interfaces on each side as well as one row at 6 o'clock. The weapon comes factory-equipped with an adjustable-length, folding stock, a 1/2"x28 muzzle thread, and a grip with fully ambidextrous controls. The grip is AR15 compatible, and the charging handle is ambidextrous and non-reciprocating. Integrated into the Picatinny rail is, similar to the VHS-2S from the same manufacturer, a folding sight with adjustment options and diopter - but this time also with a simple notch-post backup sight in the folded position. The trigger features a distinct pressure point and reset and is equipped with a straight trigger shoe.
And as a special bonus: Each Kuna is delivered with 3 pieces of 10-round magazines. The magazines are a unique design, so there are no issues with existing handguns. For those wondering why the weapon is named after the former Croatian currency: "Kuna" is Croatian for the marten, the heraldic animal of Croatia.

HS Produkts is the manufacturer, Springfield Armory is the international distributor. We do not yet know whether HS or Springfield will be marked on the weapon, and we cannot influence that! In any case, it is the same weapon manufactured in Croatia.

Die Springfield Kuna ist ein neuer PCC (pistol caliber carbine) von HS Produkts. Produziert in Kroatien und zivil vertrieben von Springfield USA, ist dieser Pistolenkarabiner eine moderne und leichte Kurzwaffe im Kaliber 9mm Luger. Ursprünglich als militärische PDW, eine kompakte Maschinenpistole, entworfen, ist dieses Modell mit 5,5" Lauf eine halbautomatische Pistole.
Das besondere an dem Design ist ein Rollenverschluss, genauer ein verzögerter Rollenverschluss, ähnlich den berühmten Waffen von HK, vor allem der MP5. Durch diesen Verschlussmechanismus weist die Waffe ein angenehmeres Rückstoßverhalten auf und liegt angenehmer im Schuss als ein PCC mit einem reinen, ungedämpften Masseverschluss.
Das komplette obere Gehäuse ist aus einem Stück Aluminium gefertigt, mit einer durchlaufenden Picatinnyschiene auf 12 Uhr und 2 Reihen M-LOK Schnittstellen je Seite sowie einer Reihe auf 6 Uhr. Ab Werk verfügt die Waffe über eine längenverstellbare, klappbare Schulterstütze, ein 1/2"x28 Mündungsgewinde und ein Griffstück mit komplett beidseitigen Bedienelementen. Der Griff ist AR15 kompatibel und der Ladehebel beidseitig umbaubar und nicht mitlaufend. Integriert in die Picatinnyschiene ist, ähnlich zur VHS-2S aus dem gleichen Hause, eine Klappvisierung mit Verstellmöglichkeiten und Diopter - aber diesmal auch mit einer einfacher Kimme-Korn Notvisierung im eingeklappten Zustand. Der Abzug verfügt über einen deutlichen Druckpunkt und Reset und ist mit einem geraden Züngel ausgestattet.
Und als besonderer Bonus: Jede Kuna wird mit 3 Stück 10 Schuss Magazinen ausgeliefert. Die Magazine sind ein eigenes Design, daher gibt es keine Probleme mit bereits vorhandenen Kurzwaffen. Wer sich wundert, warum die Waffe so heißt wie die frühere kroatische Währung: "Kuna" ist kroatisch für den Baummarder, das Wappentier Kroatiens.
