The GBRS Hydra V2 is a combination mount that offers an extra high optical axis for the red dot sight and features a corresponding attachment for laser light modules or night vision devices. The mount is clearly aimed at the law enforcement user and is designed with a very high 7.4cm (2.91") sight line for use with sights, night vision goggles, gas masks, hearing protection, and similar accessories that restrict a classic low shooting position. Such high mounts are also beneficial for a straight shooting posture, which aligns any body armor in the direction of fire; however, shots at greater distances are limited due to the high offset between the barrel bore axis and the optical axis.
The Hydra V2 is available in several versions, designed for different optics.

The front carrier for the LLM is perforated for weight savings and cable routing; in the version for the Aimpoint Micro, the rear carrier is also perforated, allowing a standard open sight (approx. 34-36mm height) to be used. The compact design makes optimal use of the available rail space, and the LLM does not need to be mounted on the handguard - optimal for very compact weapons - furthermore, the center of gravity is not unnecessarily shifted forward.

Die GBRS Hydra V2 ist eine Kombinationsmontage, die eine extra hohe optische Achse für das Leuchtpunktvisier bietet und eine korrespondierende Aufnahme für Laser-Licht-Module oder Vorsatzgeräte aufweist. Die Montage richtet sich klar an den behördlichen Anwender und ist mit der sehr hohen 7,4cm (2,91") Visierlinie auf den Einsatz mit Visieren, Nachtsichtbrillen, Gasmasken, Gehörschützern und ähnlichen Zubehör ausgelegt, die einen klassischen niedrigen Anschlag einschränken. Solcherart hohen Anschläge sind auch förderlich für eine gerade Schießhaltung, welche eine eventuelle Körperpanzerung in Schussrichtung ausrichtet, allerdings sind Schüsse auf größere Entfernungen eingeschränkt aufgrund des hohen Versatzes zwischen Laufseelenachse und optischer Achse.

Der vordere Träger für das LLM ist durchbrochen zur Gewichtsersparnis und Kabeldurchführung, bei der Ausführung für das Aimpoint Micro ist der hintere Träger ebenfalls durchbrochen, sodass eine Standard offene Visierung (ca. 34-36mm Höhe) weiterhin verwendet werden kann. Die kompakte Bauweise nutzt den vorhandenen Schienenplatz bestmöglich aus, das LLM muss nicht auf dem Handschutz montiert werden - optimal bei sehr kompakten Waffen - ausserdem wird der Schwerpunkt nicht unnötig nach vorne verlagert.
