The Hornady Manufacturing Company was founded in 1949 by Joyce Hornady and has, in addition to the original auto body manufacturing, also started developing bullets for reloaders. The latter division was initially ridiculed by many, but according to the first company slogan "Accurate, Deadly, Dependable," hunting enthusiasts were quickly impressed by the excellent quality, and the steadily growing success has continued to this day.
