The Hornady Manufacturing Company was founded in 1949 by Joyce Hornady and initially started with automotive body manufacturing before developing bullets for reloaders. The latter division was initially scoffed at by many, but according to the first company slogan "Accurate, Deadly, Dependable," hunting enthusiasts were quickly impressed by the excellent quality, and the steadily growing success has continued to this day.
