The Eickhorn Wolverine Pilots Knife is a reinterpretation of the classic "Kappmesser fliegendes Personal" of the Luftwaffe based on the new Wolverine GEK knife. Compared to its predecessor, the Pilots Knife features fewer parts and more modern materials; visually, the resemblance to the KM2000 is evident in the handle, but unlike the "Forrester" knives based on it, the "Wolverine" is somewhat shorter and more compact. The sturdy blade with a thickness of 4.7mm, combined with the short tip and the reinforcement before the false edge, provides a robust all-purpose knife for outdoor use. The serrated variant offers more potential for cutting fibrous materials. The handle is made of GFK and impresses with its grippy, slightly bulging shape and a textured area as a thumb rest on the guard. The pommel features a lanyard hole, the tang is continuous, and at the end of the perforated handle, it is designed as a striking surface. A leather sheath is included in the delivery.

The EICKHORN-Solingen GmbH is a traditional Solingen company for steel goods, founded in 1865 by Carl Eickhorn. The company specialized early on in edged weapons and became known around 1900 for its military knives and bayonets. After several changes of ownership, the company is still a well-known and proven manufacturer of robust and reliable military knives and has recently expanded its range, as in the early years, back to the civilian market, where it can draw on its expertise in the production of robust and pragmatic utility knives. The manufacturing takes place in the traditional manner in Solingen, making Eickhorn one of the few remaining traditional manufacturers.

Das Eickhorn Wolverine Pilots Knife ist eine Neuinterpretation des klassischen "Kappmesser fliegendes Personal" der Luftwaffe basierend auf dem neuen Wolverine GEK Messer. Im Vergleich zum Vorbild bietet das Pilots Knife weniger Teile und modernere Materialien, optisch ist die Verwandtschaft zum KM2000 am Griff erkennbar aber im Unterschied zu den darauf basierenden "Forrester" Messern sind die "Wolverine" etwas kürzer und kompakter. Die stabile Klinge mit 4,7mm Stärke sorgt in Verbindung mit dem kurzen Ort und der Verstärkung vor der Fehlschärfe für ein robustes Allroundmesser für den Outdooreinsatz. Die Variante mit Wellenschliff bietet mehr Potential beim Zerschneiden von faserigen Materialien. Der Griff besteht aus GFK und überzeugt durch seine griffige, leicht ballige Form und eine Schraffierung als Daumenauflage am Parierelement. Die EICKHORN-Solingen GmbH ist eine traditionsreiche Solinger Firma für Stahlwaren, welche 1865 durch Carl Eickhorn gegründet wurde. Die Firma spezialisierte sich früh auf Blankwaffen und wurde um 1900 für ihre Militärmesser und Bajonette bekannt. Nach mehreren Besitzerwechseln ist die Firma aktuell immer noch ein bekannter und bewährter Hersteller robuster und zuverlässiger militärischer Messer und hat jüngst sein Sortiment, wie in den Anfangsjahren, wieder auf den Zivilmarkt ausgeweitet, wo es auf seine Expertise in der Fertigung robuster und pragmatischer Einsatzmesser zurückgreifen kann. Die Fertigung erfolgt standesgemäß in Solingen, damit ist Eickhorn einer der wenigen verbleibenden Traditionshersteller.
