The B&T ASM is the successor to the Skeleton Mount and also features many characteristics of this lightweight and compact mount. Depending on the version, the ASM raises the optical axis of an Aimpoint ACRO to 39mm or 52mm. The 39mm corresponds to the "1/3 co-witness" height, meaning the rear sight and front sight of a (folding) sight are located in the lower third of the reticle below the dot of the sight. The 52mm is designed for an elevated head position for dynamic situations and is suitable for use with night vision goggles or add-on devices mounted on the rail. At this mounting height, the open sights can still be used, looking through the open frame.
The quick-release lever allows the mount to be easily attached and detached for different disciplines or applications. Re-zeroing is not necessary IF the mount is used with a NAR rail. With the classic Picatinny rail, slight deviations may be possible. The lightweight and slim design harmonizes perfectly with the Micro-Sights, and the QD-Lever features a lock to prevent accidental release. The ASM also includes a nut with a screw to swap the QD lever for a fixed mount. This is advisable if the sight remains permanently on the weapon or a slimmer design is preferred.

Die B&T ASM ist der Nachfolger der Skeleton Mount und weist auch viele Merkmale dieser leichten und kompakten Montage auf. Je nach Ausführung hebt die ASM die optische Achse eines Aimpoint ACRO auf 39mm oder 52mm an. Die 39mm entsprechen der "1/3 co-witness" Höhe, d.h. die Kimme und Korn einer (Klapp-)Visierung befinden sich im unteren Drittel des Absehens unter dem Leuchtpunkt des Visieres. Die 52mm sind für eine erhöhte Kopfhaltung für dynamische Situationen ausgelegt und eignen sich für die Verwendung mit Nachtsichtbrillen oder auf der Schiene montierten Vorsatzgeräten. Bei dieser Montagehöhe kann die offene Visierung weiterhin genutzt werden, man schaut dabei durch den offenen Rahmen.
Durch den Schnelllösehebel kann die Montage einfach montiert und demontiert werden für unterschiedliche Disziplinen oder Einsatzzwecke. Ein erneutes Einschießen ist nicht notwendig, WENN die Montage mit einer NAR-Schiene verwendet wird. Bei der klassischen Picatinnyschiene können leichte Abweichungen möglich sein. Die leichte und schlanke Bauweise harmoniert perfekt mit den Micro-Sights und der QD-Lever verfügt über eine Sperre um ein unbeabsichtigtes Lösen zu verhindern. Bei der ASM liegt auch ein Nutenstein mit Schraube bei, um den QD-Hebel gegen eine Festmontage zu tauschen. Dies bietet sich an, wenn das Visier dauerhaft auf der Waffe verbleibt oder eine schlankere Bauform bevorzugt wird.

Diese Montage ist ausgelegt für alle Optiken mit dem Aimpoint ACRO footprint ABER die angegebene optische Achse ist nur bei den originalen Aimpoint ACRO Visieren gewährleistet. Optiken von anderen Herstellern können abweichen.
