The term "pikal," originating from the Visayan dialect of the Philippines, translates to "to pierce" and refers to a devastatingly effective system of Filipino martial arts tactics. This system also served as inspiration for the Spyderco P'Kal, developed in collaboration with renowned self-defense expert Craig "Southnarc" Douglas of ShivWorks.
