The model designation SAPHIRE stands for Sabatti All Purpose Hunting Italian Rifle. Even the name indicates that the Italian manufacturer has specifically developed its new repeating rifle for hunting purposes. It fundamentally differs from the traditional Rover rifle. The Saphire offers the possibility to use interchangeable barrels; it also features a pleasant opening angle of 60 degrees and a fine trigger. The safety used locks both the trigger and the trigger block. It is a very safe system, as the locking of the trigger block is designed to be particularly robust. And when the trigger block is locked, the firing pin is essentially locked as well. Theoretically, a safety that directly locks the firing pin is safer, but due to the small size of the components, these parts are often less resistant. The newly developed, cold-hammered Multi-Radial barrel (MRR) made of AISI-4140 (42CrMo4) steel reduces bullet wear, achieves a higher exit velocity, and is significantly more precise in bullet guidance. All model variations come with an M15x1 muzzle thread for the optional mounting of a silencer or muzzle brake. The open sights are screwed on, allowing them to be easily removed when using over-barrel silencers. This keeps all options open for the user. Schon der Name weist darauf hin, dass der italienische Hersteller seine neue Repetierbchse speziell fr den jagdlichen Einsatz entwickelt hat. Sie unterscheidet sich deshalb auch grundlegend von der traditionellen Rover-Bchse. Die Saphire bietet die Mglichkeit Wechsellufe zu verwenden, zudem verfgt sie ber einen angenehmen ffnungswinkel von 60 Grad und einen Feinabzug. Die verwendete Sicherung verriegelt sowohl den Abzug als auch den Abzugstollen. Es ist ein sehr sicheres System, denn die Verriegelung des Abzugstollen ist besonders robust ausgelegt. Und wenn der Abzugstollen verriegelt ist, ist im Prinzip auch der Schlagbolzen verriegelt. Theoretisch ist eine Sicherung, die direkt den Schlagbolzen verriegelt, sicherer, aber aufgrund der geringen Gre der Bauteile sind diese Teile oft weniger widerstandsfhig. Der von Sabatti neu entwickelte, kaltgehmmerte Multi-Radial-Lauf (MRR) aus AISI-4140(42CrMo4)-Stahl reduziert den Geschossabrieb, erzielt eine hhere Austrittsgeschwindigkeit und ist wesentlich prziser in der Geschossfhrung. Alle Modellausfhrungen werden mit einem M15x1-Mndungsgewinde geliefert, zur optionalen Montage von Schalldmpfer oder Mndungsbremse. Die offene Visierung ist angeschraubt, so dass sie bei Verwendung von Over-Barrel-Schalldmpfern problemlos entfernt werden kann. Somit hlt sich der Anwender alle Mglichkeiten offen. Bei Nichtgebrauch wird das Mndungsgewinde durch eine unauffllige Buchse verdeckt und gleichzeitig geschtzt. Die Lauflnge betrgt 52 cm und der Laufauendurchmesser ca. 17 mm. Der Verschluss wurde aus 55-Aluminium CNC-gefrst. Eine integrierte, zweiteilige Picatinny-Schiene sorgt fr maximale Flexibilitt bei der Zielfernrohrmontage.
