Why Gaiters?
Gaiters have many advantages. They are warm, provide good protection against thorns, branches, snow, and mud, and can turn a regular hunting or trekking shoe into a proper hunting boot with just a few adjustments – and only when you really need them.
Stable, warm, and thorn-resistant: felt and leather
A 3mm thick and durable wool felt forms the actual body of the gaiters. All heavily stressed areas as well as all buckles are made from our sturdy oiled leather. This way, we create a secure protection against thorns and other sharp obstacles while also using one of the warmest and yet breathable materials available to us in nature.
Gaiters must fit!
Gaiters need to fit well, as you are very active with them; they should provide warmth and must not slip off the shoe or allow snow and moisture in. Our felt gaiters have a clever system for just that: the circumference of the shoe, ankle, and calf can be adjusted separately via three leather buckles, making the gaiter a custom fit for your own leg. The leather strap under the shoe is also adjustable in length, ensuring a good fit on different types of shoes.
Easy to put on and take off
To ensure that putting on and taking off is not a hassle due to all the buckles, our gaiters also feature a zipper behind the buckle system. So once you have adjusted the measurements for your legs, you will never have to struggle with the operation of the buckles again. You simply slip into the gaiter, close the zipper, and you are ready to go.
Replaceable shoe strap for long durability of the gaiters
The only part that can theoretically wear out at some point is the strap that runs under the shoe over the sole. If this happens with frequent use, you can simply unhook the old strap from the WALDKAUZ gaiters and replace it with a new one, which you can either order from us or have made by any cobbler.
Two sizes for all legs
Whether it's a slim women's leg, a regular men's leg, or footballer calves, with two sizes we have the right fit for all hunters. The regular model fits women and men with a normal leg circumference, while the XL model is designed for hunters with particularly strong calves (from about 45 cm to a maximum of 49 cm circumference).
