6mm Bearings
A set of 6mm bearings made of steel.
Ball bearings can be used with different spring strengths depending on size and quality to reduce friction and thus accelerate the firing cycle in the gearbox - ball bearings improve responsiveness and - with 0.5s - rate of fire. However, it also depends greatly on whether proper shimming has been done. Often the difference is not enormous, but noticeable. Additionally, ball bearings can reduce the noise of the gearbox.
We recommend (guidelines!):
- 6mm ball bearings for a maximum of 100 springs
- 7mm ball bearings for a maximum of 125 springs
- 8mm ball bearings for a maximum of 130 springs
- 9mm ball bearings for a maximum of 140 springs
- Springs over m140 should be operated with sliding bearings. Here too, the rule is: the larger, the better.
- A combination of ball bearings and sliding bearings can be used. For this, place ball bearings on the gear with the most rotations - the bevel gear on the motor. The greatest stress is on the sector gear on the piston, where a sliding bearing can be used. What goes on the middle gear is a matter of personal preference.
- Use high-quality shims and set motor play correctly!
- Lubricate well but not excessively. For this, for example, can be used. This also creeps into ball bearings and ensures long-lasting sliding action.

6mm Gleitlager
Ein Satz 6mm Lager aus Stahl.
Kugellager können je nach Größe und Qualität bei verschiedenen Federstärken verwendet werden um die Reibung zu reduzieren und somit den Schusszyklus in der Gearbox zu beschleunigen - Kugellager steigern also Ansprechverhalten und - bei 0,5ern - Feuerrate. Dabei kommt es aber auch sehr darauf an, ob vernünftig geshimmt wurde. Oft ist der Unterschied nicht enorm, aber spürbar. Außerdem können Kugellager die Lautstärke der Gearbox verringern.
Wir empfehlen (Richtwerte!):
- 6mm Kugellager bis maximal 100er Federn
- 7mm Kugellager bis maximal 125er Federn
- 8mm Kugellager bis maximal 130er Federn
- 9mm Kugellager bis maximal 140er Federn
- Federn über m140 sollten mit Gleitlagern betrieben werden. Auch hier gilt: Je größer desto besser.
- Es kann eine Kombination aus Kugellagern und Gleitlagern verwendet werden. Dazu Kugellager an das Zahnrad mit den meisten Umdrehungen - das Bevelgear am Motor. Die größte Spannung liegt auf dem Sectorgear am Piston, dort kann man dann ein Gleitlager verwenden. Was an das mittlere Gear kommt ist eine Frage der persönlichen Präferenz.
- Hochwertige Shimms verwenden und Motorspiel korrekt einstellen!
- Gut aber nicht unnötig viel schmieren. Dazu kann z.B. verwendet werden. Dieses kriecht auch in Kugellager und sorgt dort für langanhaltende Gleitwirkung.
