A rare sniper rifle 98k with high turret mount is coming up for auction - mounted on it is a scope of type AJACK 4x90. This 98k rifle shows a number of typical production simplifications (especially metal parts in sheet metal stamping technique) that had to be introduced during World War II to accelerate production. The rifle is fully matching - including the scope mount! Aside from the serial numbers, manufacturer marks, and WaA acceptance stamps, there are no foreign stamps, so there is also no reproofing. The bolt operates and locks smoothly. The barrel is in good, age-appropriate condition with slight signs of wear along its entire length. The lenses of the scope are clear. Zur Auktion kommt ein seltener Scharfschützen-Karabiner 98k mit Hoher Turmmontage - darauf montiert ein Zielfernrohr vom Typ AJACK 4x90.
Dieser Karabiner 98k zeigt eine Reihe von typischen Produktionsvereinfachungen (v.a. Beschlagteile in Blechprägetechnik), die während des 2. Weltkrieges zur Beschleunigung der Fertigung eingeführt werden mussten.
Der Karabiner ist vollständig nummerngleich - inklusive der Zielfernrohrmontage! Abgesehen von den Nummerierungen, Herstellerzeichen und WaA-Abnahmestempeln gibt es keinerlei Fremdstempel, also auch keinen Neubeschuss.
Der Verschluss läuft und verriegelt sauber. Der Lauf ist auf ganzer Länge im guten, altersgemäßen Zustand mit leichten Abnutzungserscheinungen. Die Linsen des Zielfernrohres sind klar.
