The MAUSER Abfangmesser Original is a traditional hunting tool designed for intercepting game. The Abfangmesser is preferable to a firearm in certain situations, for example, when game that has been tracked or bound by dogs needs to be intercepted – and a shot poses a danger to the surroundings. The guard allows for safer handling. The Abfangmesser features a double-edged blade with sweat grooves made of 440C steel and a slightly rounded blade tip, which facilitates penetration into the game body and prevents sticking in the bone. 440A is a stainless steel with good hardness, corrosion resistance, and sharpness. The full-tang construction, where the blade and handle are made from a single piece of steel, ensures extremely good stability. The handles made of durable G-10 composite material are ergonomically adapted for hunting use and provide a secure, non-slip grip. Das MAUSER Abfangmesser Original ist ein traditionelles Jagdwerkzeug und wurde für das Abfangen von Wild entwickelt. Das Abfangmesser ist der Schusswaffe in bestimmten Situationen vorzuziehen, beispielsweise wenn von Hunden gestelltes oder gebundenes Wild abgefangen werden muss – und dabei ein Schuss eine Gefahr für die Umgebung darstellt. Die Parierstange erlaubt sichereres Arbeiten. Das Abfangmesser hat eine beidseitig geschliffene Klinge mit Schweißrillen aus 440C-Stahl und eine leicht abgerundete Messerspitze, was das Eindringen in den Wildkörper erleichtert und ein Steckenbleiben im Knochen verhindert. 440A ist ein nichtrostender Stahl mit einer guten Härte, Korrosionsbeständigkeit und Schärfe. Die Full-Tang-Bauweise, bei der Klinge und Griff aus einem Stück Stahl gefertigt werden, sorgt für extrem gute Stabilität. Die Griffe aus widerstandsfähigem G-10 Verbundmaterial sind ergonomisch für den jagdlichen Gebrauch angepasst und liegen sicher und rutschfest in der Hand.
