Produktbeschreibung: Tsurumaru Wakizashi sword with crane motif and Sendan scabbard with Ishime lacquer. The Tsurumaru Wakizashi from Toshiro Swords features a characteristic tsuba with the crane with wings arranged in a circular pattern. This motif bears the name Tsurumaru, is one of the most popular motifs in Japanese art, and can also be found in Japanese mon (family crests). The sword has a Shinogi Zukuri blade made of T10 steel with clay tempering. It is sharp and has a hardness of 60 HRC at the edge. The sword is designed for cutting exercises with tatami mats and bamboo. A wide bo-hi groove has been incorporated into the blade for weight optimization. The scabbard is adorned with a band made of rattan. The rest of the scabbard has been lacquered using the Ishime technique, which creates a droplet effect on the scabbard. The Ishime design is excellent for practical swords because it hardly shows fingerprints. The grip is made of solid wood, and the wide tang is secured in the grip by two mekugi, providing very good stability.
