Description

The infantry rifle model 1871 (I.G. Mod. 71) was the first breech-loading rifle of the Mauser line in the German military and was introduced into service starting in 1872.

Manufactured in the royal Bavarian arsenal in Amberg, which produced Bavarian military weapons since the early 19th century and later manufactured the Werder and Mauser models.

Caliber: 11 mm Mauser (11 × 60 R) – a black powder cartridge with a metal case.
Lock: Cylinder lock (breech loader), robust and reliable for its time.
Barrel: Round to hexagonal, about 83 cm long, with sharp rifling structure.

Sighting: Adjustable notch sight (up to about 1200 m).

Das Infanteriegewehr Modell 1871 (I.G. Mod. 71) war das erste Hinterladergewehr der Mauser-Linie im deutschen Militär und trat ab 1872 in Dienst.

 Gefertigt im königlich-bayerischen Arsenal in Amberg, das seit dem frühen 19. Jahrhundert bayerische Militärwaffen produzierte und später das Werder- sowie das Mauser-Modell herstellte


Kaliber: 11 mm Mauser (11 × 60 R) – eine Schwarzpulverpatrone mit Metallhülse .
Verschluss: Zylinderverschluss (Hinterlader), robust und zuverlässig für die damalige Zeit .
Lauf: Rund- zu sechseckig, etwa 83 cm lang, mit scharfer Zügenstruktur

Visierung: Verstellbares Kimmen-Visier (bis ca. 1200 m) .
