Walther PP Ulm stamp "ac", SA/DA large caliber pistol GK pistol 7.65x17 mm Browning

Developed by Fritz Walther, one of the five sons of the company founder Carl Wilhelm Freund Walther, the Walther PP revolutionized the construction of single-action pistols from 1929 onwards as the first pistol with a constructively high-quality and reliably functioning double-action trigger.

From 1931, a more compact model with a shorter barrel, slide, and grip, the Walther PPK (Police Pistol Criminal), was also offered.

Before, during, and after World War II, the Walther PP was part of the police and authority armament in numerous countries, including in the Reich Finance Administration (Border Control Service of the Customs Administration or Customs Border Protection), where it was last mentioned in 1943. In the military, it was part of the standard armament as an officer's pistol.
