Bei der BRX-1 wurden die Ansprüche, die ein Geradezugrepetierer erfüllen muss, wie z. B. ein einen schnellen, leichtgängigen Repetiervorgang und zuverlässige Systemfunktionalität sowie eine hohe Präzision auch bei schnellen Schussfolgen berücksichtigt und innovativ umgesetzt. Der schwarzbrünnierte Lauf der Büchse wurde aus kaltgehämmertem Hochleistungsstahlgefertigt. Wertgelegt wurde außerdem auf eine hohe Eigenpräzision welche durch eine feine Abstimmung der verschiedenen Elemente, sowie eine genaue koaxiale Bettung von Laufachse und Patronenlager erreicht wird.
