During the trench warfare of World War I and the resulting trench battles, many of the inadequately equipped soldiers developed auxiliary weapons that were manufactured in field forges and workshops at and behind the front. However, it became clear during the course of the fighting that the equipment and armament of the soldiers did not meet the demands of this particular mode of combat. In 1915, Bker received the order from the War Ministry to develop a compact combat knife that was ideally suited for this purpose. The authentic reissue of the Bker trench dagger also features a non-stainless blade made of C75. This extremely edge-retaining carbon steel naturally requires appropriate care today just as it did then. The massive stainless steel hand guard, the old company stamp on the blade, the ribbed scales made of domestic sheep wood, and the authentic sheath made of high-quality leather are also part of the original equipment. The knives are marked with a continuous serial number. Whrend des Stellungskrieges im Ersten Weltkrieg und den daraus resultierenden Grabenkmpfen entwickelten viele der nur unzureichend ausgestatteten Soldaten Hilfswaffen, die in Feldschmieden und Werksttten an und hinter der Front gefertigt wurden. Im Verlauf der Gefechte zeigte sich jedoch deutlich, dass die Ausrstung und Bewaffnung der Soldaten nicht den Erfordernissen dieser besonderen Kampfweise entsprach. Im Jahre 1915 erhielt Bker daher den Auftrag vom Kriegsministerium, ein kompaktes Kampfmesser zu entwickeln, das sich genau fr diesen Einsatzzweck bestens eignet. Die originalgetreue Neuauflage des Bker Grabendolches verfgt ebenfalls ber eine nicht rostfreie Klinge, die aus C75 gefertigt wird. Dieser enorm schnitthaltige Kohlenstoffstahl bentigt heute wie damals natrlich eine entsprechende Pflege. Der massige Edelstahlhandschutz, der alte Firmenstempel auf der Klinge, die geriffelten Schalen aus heimichen Schaftholz und die authentische Scheide aus hochwertigem Leder sind ebenso Teil der Originalausstattung. Die Messer werden mit einer fortlaufenden Seriennummer gekennzeichnet.
