Der Border-Patrol ist kleiner als die meisten Rucksäcke und hat einen Innen-Rahmen. Alle Schnallen des Rucksacks sind traditionelle Metallschnallen. Trotz der relativ kleinen Kapazität von 60 Liter Volumen besitzt der Rucksack zwei Hauptfächer und ein leistungsfähiges Tragesystem. Um den Rucksack herum geht ein zentraler Kompressionsriemen welcher es dem Träger erlaubt, mit nur einem Handgriff das Volumen des Rucksacks zu komprimieren und an den Rucksackinhalt anzupassen.
