Traditionally, hunters use beech wood tar as bait for wild boars. As with all natural substances, the composition and thus important properties also vary here. The usually high viscosity makes simple and clean application difficult. Its initially sharp smell can be bothersome multiple times, e.g., during transport in the car. However, the main annoyance is its fluctuating attracting effect, which in many cases only sets in after several days. These weaknesses were the starting point for our work: First, we developed a masking technique that reliably neutralizes the piercing smell. Then, by adding a novel mixture of plant ingredients, the attracting effect on boars and sows of all age classes was significantly increased. Traditionell nutzen Jäger Buchenholzteer als Lockmittel für Sauen. Wie bei allen Naturstoffen schwankt auch hier die Zusammensetzung und damit wichtige Eigenschaften. Die meist hohe Viskosität erschwert die einfache und saubere Anwendung. Sein anfänglich scharfer Geruch kann mehrfach stören, z.B. beim Transport im Auto. Das Hauptärgernis jedoch stellt seine schwankende Lockwirkung dar, die in vielen Fällen erst nach etlichen Tagen einsetzt. Diese Schwächen waren Ausgangspunkt für unsere Arbeiten: Zunächst haben wir eine Maskierungstechnik entwickelt, die den stechenden Geruch zuverlässig neutralisiert. Dann wurde durch Zusatz einer neuartigen Mischung aus Pflanzeninhaltsstoffen die Lockwirkung auf Keiler und Bachen aller Altersklassen stark erhöht.
