High-end device Lahoux LV-81 impresses with ease of use

With the Lahoux LV-81, the Dutch specialist for night vision devices Lahoux Optics brings a multifunctional night vision attachment to the market, which boasts some of the best optics currently available. It impresses on one hand with its enormous portability. With dimensions of 213 x 78 x 64 millimeters and a weight of 0.71 kilograms (without battery), the Lahoux LV-81 demonstrates a compactness that is nearly unique in its class. On the other hand, it convinces especially with its ease of use. An on/off button and a rotary knob for focus, optimally placed on the side – that’s all it needs. But what’s inside this high-end night vision attachment, which is manufactured and assembled at the Lahoux Optics factory in Haarlem, Netherlands.

Waterproof according to IP67 certification

Lahoux Optics has achieved a great success with the LV-81. The 80 millimeter lens with a relative aperture of F/1.55 and a magnification of 1.0 x allows a field of view of 7.94°. The eyepiece has a diameter of 34 mm. The target accuracy is < 1 MOA. The parallax is 100 meters. The focusing range extends from 10 meters. These excellent values are made possible by a PhotonisTM image intensifier tube. But the Lahoux LV-81 does not stop there with its convincing qualities. The night vision attachment can be used in a temperature range from -40 °C to 50 °C. Additionally, the LV-81 is waterproof according to IP67 certification. The device is thus dustproof and protected against temporary immersion up to a maximum depth of one meter for a maximum of half an hour. The Lahoux LV-81 is powered by a CR123 battery, which provides the device with 40 to 85 hours (65 hours typical) of runtime.

Shock-resistant mounting ensures the safety of the LV-81

Particularly noteworthy is the long focal length of 80 millimeters, which results in a greater observation distance. Furthermore, the special AR coating on the lens allows for very high transmission values. The image is thus incredibly sharp and clear. To ensure everything is secure even in difficult terrain, all lenses can be individually shock-mounted.
