Historical African dagger – ethnographic collector's item
This dagger likely originates from Central Africa and dates to the early to mid-20th century. It was traditionally crafted, with a wooden handle, partially wrapped in leather, as well as a typical iron tip and chiseled decoration along the blade. The length of the piece is approximately 23 cm, and the blade measures about 12 cm (see measuring tape photo). The shape and decor reflect classic African craftsmanship; comparable daggers were used both ceremonially and as a status symbol.
The dagger shows age-appropriate patina and signs of use, which lend authenticity to its historical character. Particularly interesting for collectors of ethnographic and African art, for display in a collection or showcase.

Dieser Dolch stammt vermutlich aus Zentralafrika und datiert ins frühe bis mittlere 20. Jahrhundert. Er wurde traditionell gefertigt, mit einem Holzgriff, teils mit Leder umwickelt, sowie einer typischen Eisenspitze und ziselierten Verzierung entlang der Klinge. Die Länge des Stücks beträgt ca. 23 cm, die Klinge misst etwa 12 cm (siehe Maßbandfoto). Form und Dekor spiegeln die klassische afrikanische Handwerkskunst wider; vergleichbare Dolche wurden sowohl zeremoniell als auch als Statussymbol verwendet.
Der Dolch zeigt altersgemäße Patina und Spuren der Nutzung, die dem historischen Charakter Authentizität verleihen. Besonders interessant für Sammler ethnografischer und afrikanischer Kunst, zur Präsentation in Sammlung oder Vitrine.
