The SWT-40 was developed by Fyodor Tokarev as the successor to the Tokarev SWT-38. From 1940 to 1945, about 1.6 million rifles of this type were produced, about 50,000 of which were made as sniper rifles. This is one of them in this auction.
The SWT-40 served for a short time as the standard rifle of the Red Army. The rifles were soon no longer used in active service after the end of World War II, but disappeared into reserve storage. From there, some of these weapons made their way to the civilian arms market, like this one here.
Imported by the company Waffen Schumacher and in my possession since that time.
The weapon is in very good condition, the optics are clear and the reticle is sharp, the barrel is bright.

Von 1940 bis 1945 wurden etwa 1,6 Millionen Gewehre dieses Typs produziert, etwa 50.000 davon wurden als Scharfschützengewehr ausgeführt. Um solches handelt es sich in dieser Auktion.
Das SWT-40 diente kurze Zeit als Standardgewehr der Roten Armee. Die Gewehre wurden schon bald nach dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges nicht mehr im aktiven Dienst verwendet, sondern verschwanden in den Reservelagern. Von dort gelangten einige dieser Waffen auf den zivilen Waffenmarkt, so wie diese hier.
Importiert von der Fa. Waffen Schumacher und seit dieser Zeit in meinem Besitz.
Die Waffe befindet sich in einem sehr guten Zustand, die Optik ist klar und das Absehen scharfkabtig, der Lauf blank.
