Colt Government Pistol M-1911A1-67 Cal. .45 ACP RMI Japan Full Metal Deco 70s
This is the "RMI Model M1911 - 67 Auto" replica of the COLT Governments M1911 A1. The weapon is chrome-plated and is nearly identical in size, weight, and handling to the real 1911.
Although the barrel is completely sealed, the model gun can be disassembled exactly like the live version, including a barrel that is movable and mounted on a chain link. The thumb safety also works, and the steel magazine can hold .45 caliber cartridges.
The weapon is very precise and feels really good in the hand! The weight of 1031 grams is also realistic. A true hand charmer, very well made!
Also interesting is the history of model guns, here in relation to the RMI 1911s:
The present deactivated weapon comes from MGC (Model Gun Company or Corporation, Japan, and was imported by the American company RMI from Japan to the USA between 1968 and 1980. There, these deactivated weapons were also used as so-called "training weapons" to safely learn how to handle the 1911. In the USA, weapons of this type are actually traded, depending on the specimen, between 350.- to 500.- USD - surprising, as there the live versions are available for much less.
The Firecap weapons were then basically the successors of the Modelguns, according to Google.
This weapon is definitely a really good, detailed, and fully disassemblable model gun (not the kind from DENIX, as there are worlds of difference!).
Especially important here: BKA release number 51A!

Es handelt sich um die "RMI Model M1911 - 67 Auto" Nachbildung des COLT Governments M1911 A1. Die Waffe ist verchromt und in Größe, Gewicht und Handhabung nahezu identisch mit dem echten 1911er.
Der Lauf ist zwar durchgängig verschlossen, die Modellwaffe kann aber exakt wie das scharfe Vorbild zerlegt werden, inkl. per Kettenglied beweglich gelagertem Lauf. Die Handballensicherung funktioniert auch, in das Stahlblechmagazin passen Patronen Kal. .45.
Die Waffe ist sehr passgenau und fühlt sich wirklich gut an in der Hand! Auch das Gewicht von 1031 Gramm ist realitätsnah. Ein echter Handschmeichler, sehr gut verarbeitet!
Interessant ist auch die Geschichte der Modellwaffen, hier in Bezug auf die RMI 1911er:
Die vorliegende Dekowaffe stammt vom MGC (Model Gun Company oder Corporation, Japan, und wurde von der amerikanische Firma RMI zwischen 1968 und 1980 von Japan in die USA importiert. Dort wurden diese Dekowaffen u. a. auch als sog. "Trainingswaffen" verwendet, um die Handhabung des 1911er gefahrlos zu erlernen. In den USA werden Waffen dieser Art tatsächlich auch gehandelt, je nach Exemplar zwischen 350.- bis 500.- USD - erstaunlich, da es dort die scharfen Ausführungen für viel weniger gibt.
Die Firecapwaffen waren dann quasi die Nachfolger der Modelguns, so Google.
Diese Waffe ist jedenfalls eine richtig gute, detaillierte und voll zerlegbare Modelgun (nicht die Art von DENIX, da liegen Welten dazwischen!).
