Sights and scopes can be easily mounted on it. The cross grooves effectively absorb the recoil forces through the form-fitting connection, thus preventing the attached parts from shifting, and also allow for mounting at various distances or multiple devices in succession. The underside of the rail is not standardized but must be adapted to the contour of the weapon to which it is typically screwed. RUSAN PICATINNY SCHIENE Mauser M 25 Geradezug L 145 mm Die von Rusan hergestellte Stahl Picatinny-Schiene ist eine nach NATO-Standard genormte, gezahnte Schiene zur schnellen und wiederholgenauen Montage von Zubehörteilen auf Schusswaffen. An ihr können Visiereinrichtungen und Zielfernrohre einfach montiert werden. Die Quernuten nehmen zum einen effektiv die Rückstoßkräfte durch die formschlüssige Verbindung auf und verhindern so ein Wandern der angebauten Teile, und erlauben zum anderen eine Montage in verschiedenen Abständen oder mehrerer Geräte hintereinander. Die Unterseite der Schiene ist nicht genormt, sondern muss der Kontur der Waffe angepasst sein, mit der sie in der Regel verschraubt ist.
