The Trijicon RMR Type 2 is the current generation of the well-known RMR. It uses the same widely used footprint and has the same dimensions as its predecessor. It has been equipped with modern electronics and is manufactured to be even more robust, with the most obvious feature being the upwardly curved edges of the housing, which serve to deflect impacts from the lens.
Suitable for all applications, it can be mounted on pistols as well as on shotguns and rifles, and thanks to the widespread footprint, there are a variety of mounts for every purpose. All RMR Type 2 are waterproof up to 20m, feature a multi-coated lens, and have a click adjustment of 1 MOA.
The Trijicon RMR Type 2 LED Sight is available with 3 different dot sizes: 1, 3.5 & 6 MOA, with the 3.5 MOA being the best-selling and most versatile dot size. It is available in 2 illumination options: with purely automatic brightness adjustment and as "adjustable".
The "adjustable" variant allows for manual adjustment of the dot in 8 levels, turning off the dot for storage, and switching to automatic mode. Additionally, the controls can be locked to prevent accidental changes to the brightness. After 16.5 hours in manual mode, the sight automatically switches to automatic mode to be ready for immediate use the next time. The illumination is night vision compatible and offers a battery life of over 4 years on level 4.

Trijicon was founded in 1981 in Michigan as a distribution company for "Occluded Eye Gunsights," a prototype of today's reflex sights. The name "Trijicon" was created in 1985 from the words "Tritium" and "Icon" and referred to the 3-point Tritium sights for pistols produced by the company at that time. Das Trijicon RMR Type 2 ist die aktuelle Generation des bekannten RMR. Es benutzt den gleichen weitverbreiteten footprint und hat die gleichen Abmaße wie der Vorgänger. Es wurde mit moderner Elektronik ausgestattet und ist noch robuster gefertigt wobei das offensichtlichste Merkmal die nach oben geschwungenen Kanten des Gehäuses sind, welche dazu dienen Stöße von der Linse abzuleiten.
Geeignet für alle Anwendungen, kann es auf Pistolen ebenso montiert werden wie auf Schrotflinten und Gewehren und dank der weiten Verbreitung des footprints gibt es eine Vielzahl von Montagen für jeden Einsatzzweck. Alle RMR Type 2 sind bis 20m wasserdicht, verfügen über eine mehrfach vergütete Linse und eine Klickverstellung mit 1 MOA.
Das Trijicon RMR Type 2 LED Sight gibt es in mit 3 verschieden Punktgrößen: 1, 3,5 & 6 MOA. Wobei die 3,5 MOA die meistverkaufte und universellste Punktgröße darstellen. Es ist in 2 Beleuchtungsoptionen erhältlich: mit rein automatischer Helligkeitsanpassung und als „adjustable“.
Die „adjustable“ Variante erlaubt die manuelle Regulierung des Leuchtpunktes in 8 Stufen, das Abschalten des Leuchtpunktes zur Lagerung und die Umstellung auf den automatischen Modus. Außerdem können die Bedienelemente gesperrt werden, sodass ein unbeabsichtigtes Ändern der Leuchtkraft nicht möglich ist. Nach 16,5 Stunden im manuellen Modus wechselt das Visier automatisch auf den automatischen Modus um bei der nächsten Verwendung sofort einsatzbereit zu sein. Die Beleuchtung ist nachtsichttauglich und bietet eine Batterielebensdauer von über 4 Jahren auf Stufe 4.
