The Eickhorn Compact 5000 is a new dagger from the traditional Solingen company. Simple and effective with a completely symmetrical blade and handle. The G10 handle with aggressive texture is non-slip and secure in the hand, and the full tang ends in a hammer pommel. The wide crossguard and the bulbous grip prevent the hand from slipping onto the blade. The blade is almost 5mm thick and made from Eickhorn Professional steel. With a blade length of 13.8cm, the Compact 5000 is smaller than the combat knives of the brand but definitely not a small fry. A Kydex sheath ensures quick access and safe carrying.

The EICKHORN-Solingen GmbH is a traditional Solingen company for steel goods, founded in 1865 by Carl Eickhorn. The company specialized early on in edged weapons and became known around 1900 for its military knives and bayonets. After several changes of ownership, the company is still a well-known and proven manufacturer of robust and reliable military knives and has recently expanded its range, as in the early years, back to the civilian market, where it can draw on its expertise in the production of robust and pragmatic utility knives. The manufacturing takes place in the traditional manner in Solingen, making Eickhorn one of the few remaining traditional manufacturers.

Der Eickhorn Compact 5000 ist ein neuer Dolch der Solinger Traditionsfirma. Schlicht und effektiv mit komplett symmetrischer Klinge und Griff. Der Griff aus G10 mit aggressiver Textur liegt rutschfest und sicher in der Hand, der durchgehende Erl endet in einem Hammerknauf. Das breite Kreuz und der der ballige Griff verhindert, dass die Hand auf die Klinge rutscht. Die Klinge ist fast 5mm stark und gefertigt aus Eickhorn Professional Stahl. Mit einer Klingenlänge von 13,8cm ist der Compact 5000 zwar kleiner als die Kampfmesser der Marke aber definitiv kein Winzling. Ein Kydexscheide sorgt für einen schnellen Zugriff und sicheres führen.

Die Firma spezialisierte sich früh auf Blankwaffen und wurde um 1900 für ihre Militärmesser und Bajonette bekannt. Nach mehreren Besitzerwechseln ist die Firma aktuell immer noch ein bekannter und bewährter Hersteller robuster und zuverlässiger militärischer Messer und hat jüngst sein Sortiment, wie in den Anfangsjahren, wieder auf den Zivilmarkt ausgeweitet, wo es auf seine Expertise in der Fertigung robuster und pragmatischer Einsatzmesser zurückgreifen kann. Die Fertigung erfolgt standesgemäß in Solingen, damit ist Eickhorn einer der wenigen verbleibenden Traditionshersteller.
