The EraTac T7 mount is a new approach in the field of block mounts. With a variety of innovations compared to previous models or competing products, the T7 offers the shooter an extremely modular platform for mounting a variety of scopes while significantly simplifying a secure and precise mounting of the optics.
The most striking feature is the redesign of the rings, which consist of two half-shells connected by an axis that encircle the scope. This technical solution is not new, but has rarely been implemented until now - it requires low manufacturing tolerances and is highly dependent on the dimensional accuracy of the scope. However, EraTac has expanded this "belt principle" with the new ERA Grip technology, which holds the scope securely and reliably even under the heaviest loads - without applying unnecessary force to the main tube. This prevents damage during mounting. Gluing the optics is also no longer necessary with the T7 mount due to the ERA Grip technology.
The next innovation for EraTac is the use of a wedge to align the optics. The included wedge is slid under the glass to align it via the smooth underside. Through several guides, the glass can be aligned in almost any position in the mount.
Tip:
Both innovations significantly facilitate the mounting of a scope. The wedge takes over the error-prone alignment of the scope in the horizontal plane, and the rings closed with a hinge and ERA Grip make inserting the scope a simple "drop in" solution. Now only 2 screws per ring are needed to secure the scope.

The necessary torque values and required Torx key sizes are clearly engraved on the mount and color-coded. An instruction manual is included (Unlike other EraTac mounts, no Torx key is included anymore, as the mount is recommended to be used with torque).
The new modular system of the T7 mount is not compatible with the "old" universal interface from EraTac. However, the new self-centering system is more stable and allows for the mounting of accessories at 3, 9 & 12 o'clock as well as at a 45° angle on the right side (between 1 & 2 o'clock). Through these interfaces, the shooter can install a variety of red dot sights, backup sights, levels, and other accessories for precise shooting.
The new design has significantly reduced the weight, by up to 40% compared to comparable mounts, and there are no protruding edges or controls. The mount does not interfere with weapon handling - especially side-mounted charging handles on the housing can otherwise pose a problem - and does not snag on gear or clothing.
New, but not untested - the T7 mount has of course been extensively tested and withstands the largest calibers and highest cadences without any issues. Made from 7075 T6 aluminum and hard-anodized, it is robust and durable, and care has been taken in the design to use as few small parts as possible - no small locking pins that can be lost, no unnecessary holes that weaken the body.

Die EraTac T7 Montage ist ein neuer Ansatz im Bereich der Blockmontagen. Mit einer Vielzahl von Neuerungen gegenüber den Vorgängermodellen oder auch Konkurrenzprodukten bietet die T7 dem Schützen eine äußerst modulare Plattform für die Montage einer Vielzahl von Zielfernrohren und gleichzeitig wird eine sichere und präzise Montage der Optik deutlich vereinfacht.
Das herausstechendste Merkmal ist die Neukonstruktion der Ringe, welche über Zwei mit einer Achse verbundenen Halbschalen bestehen, welche das Zielfernrohr umschließen. Diese technische Lösung ist zwar nicht neu aber wurde bisher selten umgesetzt - es erfordert geringe Fertigungstoleranzen und ist stark abhängig von der Maßhaltigkeit des Zielfernrohres. Aber EraTac hat dieses "Gürtelprinzip" erweitert um die neue ERA Grip Technologie, welches das Zielfernrohr sicher und zuverlässig auch bei stärksten Belastungen hält - ohne unnötige Kraft auf das Mittelrohr zu bringen. So werden Beschädigungen bei der Montage vermieden. Ein Verkleben der Optik ist bei der T7 Montage durch die ERA Grip Technik auch nicht mehr notwendig.
Die nächste Neuerung für EraTac ist die Verwendung eines Keils zum Ausrichten der Optik. Dabei wird der beiliegende Keil unter das Glas geschoben, um dieses über die glatte Unterseite auszurichten. Durch mehrere Führungen kann das Glas in nahezu jeder Position in der Montage ausgerichtet werden.
Tipp:
Beide Neuerungen erleichtern das Montieren eines Zielfernrohres deutlich. Der Keil übernimmt die fehleranfällige Ausrichtung des Zielfernrohres in der Horizontalen und die über ein Scharnier geschlossenen Ringe mit ERA Grip machen das Einsetzen des ZF zu einer einfach "drop in" Lösung. Auch sind jetzt nur noch 2 Schrauben pro Ring notwendig, um das ZF zu fixieren.
Weniger Aufwand beim Einstellen, mehr Zeit zum Einschießen.
Die notwendigen Drehmomente und benötigten Torx-Schlüsselgrößen sind deutlich erkennbar auf der Montage eingraviert und farblich hinterlegt. Eine Bedienungsanleitung liegt bei (Anders als bei anderen Eratac-Montagen, liegt kein Torx-Schlüssel mehr bei, weil wie gesagt mit Drehmoment die Montage empfohlen wird.)
Das neue Modularsystem der T7 Montage ist nicht kompatibel mit der "alten" Universalschnittstelle von EraTac. Dafür ist das neue selbstzentrierende System stabiler und ermöglicht die Montage von Zubehör auf 3, 9 & 12 Uhr sowie im 45° Winkel auf der rechten Seite (zwischen 1 & 2 Uhr Uhr). Über diese Schnittstellen kann der Schütze eine Vielzahl von Leuchtpunktvisieren aber auch Notvisierungen, Libellen und weiteres Zubehör für den präzisen Schuss installieren.
Durch das neue Design wurde das Gewicht deutlich reduziert, bis zu 40% gegenüber vergleichbaren Montagen, und es gibt keine hervorstehenden Kanten oder Bedienelemente. Die Montage kommt damit nicht in Konflikt mit der Waffenhandhabung - gerade seitlich am Gehäuse montierte Ladehebel stellen ansonsten ein Problem dar - und bleibt auch nicht an der Ausrüstung oder Kleidung hängen.
Neu, aber nicht unerprobt - die T7 Montage wurde natürlich ausführlich getestet und hält größten Kalibern und höchsten Kadenzen problemlos stand. Gefertigt aus 7075 T6 Aluminium und hart-eloxiert ist sie robust und widerstandsfähig und es wurde bei der Konstruktion darauf geachtet, dass so wenig wie möglich Kleinteile verwendet werden - keine kleinen Arretierungsstifte, die verloren gehen können, keine unnötigen Bohrungen, welche den Korpus schwächen.
