The ERATAC emergency sight was developed with the aim of creating a robust backup sight for harsh military use with the mechanical precision of a competition sight. The material mix of steel parts where necessary and high-strength aircraft aluminum where sufficient allows for a design reduced to the essentials with low weight and thus a very small size. Special coatings ensure absolute corrosion resistance even under maritime conditions. The spring-loaded folding mechanism reliably prevents damage to the sight in harsh use. An emergency sight must enable quick and intuitive target acquisition in stressful situations. Die ERATAC-Notvisierung entstand mit der Zielsetzung, ein robustes Backup-Sight für den harten militärischen Einsatz mit der mechanischen Präzision eines Wettkampfvisiers zu schaffen. Der Materialmix aus Stahlteilen dort, wo sie nötig sind und hochfestem Flugzeugaluminium, wo dies ausreichend ist, erlaubt ein auf das notwendigste reduziertes Design bei geringem Gewicht und somit eine sehr geringe Baugröße. Spezielle Beschichtungen gewährleisten absolute Korrosionsfreiheit auch unter maritimen Bedingungen. Der federnde Klappmechanismus verhindert zuverlässig eine Beschädigung der Visierung im harten Einsatz. Ein Notvisier muss die schnelle und intuitive Zielerfassung in Stresssituationen ermöglichen.
