Description

offered here is a relatively rare, somewhat curious collector's weapon, namely the Mod. Vetterli 1870/87/15 in caliber 6.5 x 52 Carcano. Regarding its history: the over 1.30 m long rifle was initially manufactured in 1878 in Brecia as a single-shot in caliber 10.4 mm Ital. Ordonanz (the year 1878 and Brecia stamped on the left side of the action). After 1887, the weapon was converted to a 4-shot repeater in this caliber. Hence the second year 87. Then, starting in 1916, something curious was done during the second and final modification: the rifle was converted to caliber 6.5 mm Carcano and received, in addition to a Steyr Mannlicher-like magazine for 7 rounds, a liner that was neatly fitted and soldered into the old one! On the underside of the stock in the area of the magazine, you can still see the closed spots on both sides from the originally shorter but wider magazine. The bolt of the weapon can be cycled flawlessly and closes tightly and play-free. The barrel is almost bright and only minimally rough, but with strong, flawless rifling. Unfortunately, the cleaning rod is missing, but it can certainly be easily replaced with a contemporary rod. Since the rifle does not have a valid proof mark, the weapon can only be purchased by a dealer, collector, or for export.

angeboten wird hier eine relativ seltene, schon irgendwie kuriose Sammlerwaffe und zwar das Mod. Vetterli 1870/87/15 im Kaliber 6,5 x 52 Carcano. Zur Geschichte: das über 1,30 m lange Gewehr wurde zunächst 1878 in Brecia als Einzellader im Kaliber 10,4 mm
Ital. Ordonanz gefertigt ( Jahreszahl 1878 und Brecia auf der linken Systemseite gestempelt ). Nach 1887 wurde die Waffe zum 4 schüssigen Mehrlader in diesem Kaliber umgebaut. Daher die zweite Jahreszahl 87. Und dann wurde ab 1916 etwas kurioses gemacht, bei der zweiten und letzten Änderung: das Gewehr wurde auf das Kaliber 6,5 mm Carcano umgebaut und bekam neben dem einem Steyr Mannlicher änlichem Magazin für 7 Schuss einen Futterlauf, der sauber in den alten eingepasst und eingelötet wurde! An der Unterseite des Schaftes im Bereich des Magazins sieht man noch die beidseitig verschlossenen Stellen durch das urspüngliche kürzere, aber breitere Magazin. Der Verschluss der Waffe lässt sich einwandfrei repetieren und verschließt fest und spielfrei. Der Lauf ist fast blank und nur minimal rau, aber mit kräftigen, einwandfreien Zügen. Der Putzstock fehlt leider, kann aber sicherlich leicht durch einen zeitgenössischen Stab ersetzt werden. Da das Gewehr keinen gültigen Beschuss hat, kann die Waffe nur von einem Händler, Sammler oder für den Export erworben werden.
