The barrel has a beautiful rust-blue finish that complements the walnut grip well.The handgun takes its name and design from the large-caliber, mostly double-barreled pistols used during tiger hunts in colonial India. Hunters operated from the "Howdah," a type of wooden platform mounted on the backs of elephants. When a wounded tiger attempted to reach the hunters, the very short and handy weapon could immediately stop the attack. WaffenkofferDie Pedersoli Howdah Hunter Steinschloss-Pistole verfügt über das Kaliber 20 mit glattem Lauf ohne Choke und ist damit für Schrot und Flintenlaufgeschoss geeignet. Der Lauf hat ein schönes rostblaues Finish, das gut zum Nussbaumgriff passt.Die Kurzwaffe hat ihren Namen und ihr Design von den großkalibrigen, meist doppelläufigen Pistolen übernommen, die bei den Tigerjagden im kolonialen Indien benutzt wurden. Die Jäger agierten vom "Howdah" aus, einer Art hölzerner Plattform die auf dem Rücken der Elefanten montiert war. Wenn ein verwundeter Tiger versuchte die Jäger zu erreichen, konnte die sehr kurze und handliche Waffe den Angriff sofort stoppen.
