The fleece jacket that isn't one at all!

We call the material from which this jacket is made Loden fleece. The fabric is warm and soft like fleece fabric, but on the one hand, it is not made of polyester, but of 100% virgin wool. On the other hand, it is not a so-called knitted fabric (mesh fabric), as is common with fleece. Rather, it is a genuine double-faced loden, meaning a woven fabric that is particularly densely processed and has been intensively brushed on both sides. With a weight of about 600g/m, it can certainly be classified as a heavy quality. We developed this fabric together with our cloth manufacturer specifically for our purposes. It is specially made for us and combines wind-resistant properties with good thermal insulation and a very pleasant, super-soft wearing comfort. Through a special yarn structure and thickness and an elaborate brushing process, the fabric receives an extremely soft and dense surface on both sides. In contrast to most other loden fabrics, which tend to feel a bit rough, our loden fleece can be worn directly on the skin without a scratchy feeling, for example, under short-sleeved shirts or T-shirts.

The design of the Loden fleece jacket "Adele"

The jacket has a tailored, modern cut and provides sufficient freedom of movement, making it particularly comfortable to wear during hunting. Two large zipper pockets, trimmed with genuine leather, offer space for some utensils and keep your hands warm in winter. In the elbow, shoulder, and neck areas, we have additionally reinforced the outer fabric with patches made of regular loden, also made of pure virgin wool. This protects the heavily used areas against wear and tear. The main elements of the jacket are double-stitched and, in addition to the main seam, are equipped with a so-called coverlock seam, which not only looks very chic but also provides additional security for all seams. Even if a seam gets caught in the branches, there is still a second, additional security underneath. The practical 2-way zipper allows you to open the jacket from the bottom as well. This gives you more freedom of movement when sitting or lets your stylish belt peek out.

A jacket, two brands – why is that?

For understanding: The men's loden fleece jacket URS and the women's model ADELE were created roughly at the same time as the establishment of our outdoor brand STEINKAUZ. Therefore, they are partially available under the label WALDKAUZ and partially as STEINKAUZ loden jackets. The hunting colors like moss green and brown were assigned to one, while the colorful leisure colors were assigned to the other brand. The same can be found, for example, with the rain cape WASSERMANN.
The intention behind this decision was primarily to avoid mixing items specialized for hunting with those that are not suitable for hunting under the WALDKAUZ label. Conversely, this does not pose a problem, but no hunter goes hunting in clothing that immediately catches the attention of the game, and just as little do they want to head out with a shoulder bag that can only be opened with an audible click! Die Fleecejacke, die gar keine ist!

Loden-Fleece nennen wir das Material, aus dem diese Jacke gefertigt wird. Der Stoff ist warm und weich wie ein Fleecestoff, ist aber zum Einen nicht aus Polyester, sondern aus 100% Schurwolle hergestellt. Zum Anderen ist es kein sogenannter Wirkstoff (Maschenware), wie bei Fleece üblich. Es handelt sich vielmehr um einen waschechten Doubleface-Loden, also einen gewebten Stoff, der besonders dicht verarbeitet und von beiden Seiten intensiv aufgerauht wurde. Mit einem Gewicht von etwa 600g/m kann man ihn durchaus als schwere Qualität bezeichnen. Diesen Stoff haben wir zusammen mit unserem Tuchfabrikanten speziell für unsere Zwecke entwickelt. Er wird extra für uns angefertigt und vereint windabweisende Eigenschaften mit einer guten Wärmeisolierung und einem sehr angenehmen, superweichen Tragekomfort. Durch eine spezielle Garnstruktur und -stärke und ein aufwändiges Aufrauhungsverfahren bekommt der Stoff beidseitig eine enorm weiche und dichte Oberfläche. Im Gegensatz zu den meisten anderen Lodenstoffen, die sich eher etwas rauhbeinig anfühlen, lässt sich unser Loden-Fleece ohne ein kratziges Gefühl direkt auf der Haut, z.B. bei kurzärmeligen Hemden oder T-Shirts, tragen.

Das Design der Loden-Fleecejacke "Adele"

Die Jacke hat einen taillierten, modernen Schnitt und bringt ausreichende Bewegungsfreiheit mit, so daß sie besonders während der Jagd angenehm zu tragen ist. Zwei große, mit echtem Leder eingefasste Reißverschlußtaschen bieten Platz für einige Utensilien und wärmen im Winter die Hände. Im Ellenbogen-, Schulter-, und Halsbereich haben wir den Oberstoff noch zusätzlich mit Belegen aus normalem Loden, ebenfalls aus reiner Schurwolle, verstärkt. So werden die stark beanspruchten Stellen zusätzlich gegen Abnutzung geschützt. Die Hauptelemente der Jacke sind doppelt genäht und neben der Hauptnaht zusätzlich mit einer sogenannten Coverlock-Naht versehen, die nicht nur sehr chic aussehen, sondern zugleich eine zusätzliche Sicherung aller Nähte bewirken. Selbst, wenn einmal eine Naht im Geäst hängen bleibt, liegt darunter noch eine zweite, zusätzliche Sicherung.
Der praktische 2-Wege-Zipper ermöglicht es, die Jacke auch von unten zu öffnen. Dieses gibt Ihnen mehr Bewegungsfreiheit im Sitzen oder läßt Ihren schicken Gürtel hervorblitzen.

Die Loden-Fleecejacke "Adele" gibt es in den Größen S, M, L, und XL. Die Zuordnungen zu den Konfektionsgrößen entnehmen Sie bitte der folgenden Tabelle. Die Maße entsprechen den Jacken und Sie vergleichen mit Ihren Körpermaßen und berücksichtigen Unterwäsche, Bluse usw.

Eine Jacke, zwei Marken – warum das?

Zum Verständnis: Die Herren-Lodenfleecejacke URS und das Damenmodell ADELE sind in etwa zeitgleich mit der Entstehung unserer Outdoormarke STEINKAUZ entstanden. Daher gibt es sie teilweise unter dem Label WALDKAUZ und teilweise als STEINKAUZ-Lodenjacke. Die jagdlichen Farben wie moosgrün und braun wurden dabei der einen, die bunten Freizeitfarben der anderen Marke zugeordnet. Gleiches findet sich z.B. auch beim Regencape WASSERMANN.
Die Intention bei dieser Entscheidung war vor allem, die für die Jagd spezialisierten Dinge beim WALDKAUZ nicht mit Dingen zu vermischen, die für die Jagd nicht geeignet sind. Umgekehrt stellt das kein Problem dar aber kein Jäger geht mit Bekleidung zur Jagd, die dem Wild sofort ins Auge springt und genauso wenig möchte er/sie mit einer Umhängetasche losziehen, bei der der Verschluß sich nur mit einem hörbaren Klick! öffnen lässt. Daher die unserer Meinung nach nötige Trennung in WALDKAUZ und STEINKAUZ.
