Hunting Cap Frostbeule in Dark Brown
Night hunting for wild boars: It is wonderfully quiet. The moonlight makes the frost on the wide meadows in front of the hunting stand sparkle, and the whole scene is so beautiful that one would prefer to spend the entire night here, almost wishing that the wild boars would take a little longer before the nocturnal idyll is replaced by the work after the shot. Then, after an hour of waiting, a faint red glow irritates the quietly lurking hunter, flickering on both sides of the hunting stand walls and slowly growing stronger. The mood shifts when the hunter realizes that it comes from the linings of his own ears, which begin to glow red – famously, the last struggle before the dreaded numbness sets in. Happy is the one who has a WALDKAUZ Frostbeule now, for it not only silently saves the chilly earlobes but also protects the head and carrier from improper hypothermia, ensuring that at the crucial moment, the well-warmed hunter's head keeps a cool mind.
All Over: Practical and Silent Warm Hood from Head to Neck
The "Frostbeule" is a Loden loop, ear warmer, and hat in one. A warm loop scarf made of soft loden fleece warms the neck and can be pulled up over the nose. Thanks to the adjustable elastic drawstring, it can be customized in width at its upper edge. The loden is also cut deeper in the front area so that it fits well into the neckline even with a deeper collar or a half-open jacket collar.
The hood is attached to the back part of the scarf and protects the head and ears from the cold. It can also be adjusted in width continuously with a drawstring and can be worn loosely or tightly like a hat around the head. If it is not needed because it is still warm enough, it can simply be folded back like any other hood.
What is particularly nice about the cut and the interplay of both parts: Because the opening of the hood extends far back, the ears can even be "brought forward" and are slightly pushed forward by the light tension of the fabric. Every hunter knows how much better one can hear when the ear shells are directed forward with the hands! However, this only works if the tension of the drawstring is completely loosened. When tightened, the ears lie under the fabric and are well protected from the cold.
Optimal addition for the Petz
We have received inquiries before about whether the sitting bag and coat "Petz" is also available with a hood. We were torn back and forth on this, as a hood can sometimes make sense, but on the other hand, it can quickly become annoying when you don't need it. With the "Frostbeule," you can now extend your Petz with an extra warm collar complete with a hood, and you only need this additional part when the temperatures require it!
Proven Material
We use our WALDKAUZ loden fleece for this balaclava, which has been a proven and breathable source of warmth for many years. It is made from pure virgin wool and is uncommonly soft for a loden, has good windstop properties, and is very warm. For us, it is the perfect material for warm sitting clothes.
One size for all
Since men and women, tall and shorter people do not differ dramatically in head circumference and the frostbite is so adaptable, only one size is needed that fits everyone.
Application: Perfect for winter cold sitting hunts
Admittedly, as a fashionable headpiece, the hat doesn't quite make the cut (just a bump), but it couldn't be more pragmatic. And let's be honest: Who looks at themselves in the mirror while sitting, except maybe selfie-taking Instagram influencers for whom this hat is just not suitable. By the way, we also strongly advise against wearing the hat for shopping sprees in large cities or even for withdrawing Christmas money at the local savings bank to avoid misunderstandings or mix-ups!
