The service pistol M9A3 is Beretta's latest development of the Italian classic in 9 mm Parabellum caliber. It is characterized by enormous durability and a moderate weight with high magazine capacity, and is used by the military in many countries around the world. The facelift of the iconic pistol has also found its way into the airsoft world, imported by Umarex and manufactured by KWC.
The pistol, which is almost entirely in tan, is powered by CO2 capsules stored in the magazine. Only the grip panels of the M9A3 are made of plastic, like the original. The grip of the Beretta is relatively slim but also accommodates larger hands. Unfortunately, unlike the original, there are no interchangeable grip panels in different sizes available. Nevertheless, the pistol feels nice in the hand and has a low profile. At the bottom of the grip, there is a hook for attaching a lanyard. The beavertail of the M9A3 comfortably rests on the back of the hand. The magazine release is easy to operate, and the magazine clicks in securely with a noticeable sound. Additionally, the magazine release can also be mounted on the other side for left-handed shooters. The trigger of the M9A3 is classically a double-action trigger. If you pre-cock the trigger, the trigger weight is relatively low. The reset is noticeable but not too strong, yet a rapid succession of shots is possible. The trigger guard is very large compared to other pistols, allowing shooting even with thick gloves. The complete lower receiver is made of metal and features a three-slot rail in front of the trigger guard, allowing for the attachment of common LLM (dummies) or scope cams.
The slide is also completely made of metal and features a two-stage safety at the rear. The sights are designed in the classic three-point style, allowing for quick target acquisition. At the business end of the barrel, there is a thread protector, under which a 14mm negative thread is located, allowing for the attachment of a silencer or tracer if desired.
The pistol can be disassembled quickly and user-friendly, typical of the M9, making cleaning and maintenance tasks swift. The hop-up can be adjusted via a wheel located below the hop-up chamber. Internally, KWC exclusively uses metal components, which give the M9A3 durability. We recommend cleaning the pistol regularly (every 2-3 game days) and applying a bit of silicone oil to the capsule head when inserting a new CO2 capsule. The blowback system of the pistol is extremely powerful and crisp, which is largely due to the drive type of the M9A3. The magazine of the M9A3 holds 22 rounds. We achieved the best results using Umarex CO2 capsules and 0.28g BBs.
KWC delivers a solid backup with the M9A3, which is usable almost all year round and provides a lot of fun. Whether for USMC reenactment, collectors, Beretta fans, or just regular players: the KWC M9A3 appeals to everyone.

Die Dienstpistole M9A3 ist Berettas neuste Weiterentwicklung des italienischen Klassikers im Kaliber 9 mm Parabellum. Sie zeichnet sich durch eine enorme Belastbarkeit und ein moderates Gewicht bei hoher Magazinkapazität aus und wird bei in vielen Ländern der Welt beim Militär eingesetzt. Das Facelift der ikonischen Pistole hat auch den Weg in die Airsoftwelt gefunden, importiert von Umarex und hergestellt von KWC.
Die fast ausschließlich in Tan gehaltene Pistole wird mit CO2-Kapseln betrieben, die im Magazin verstaut werden. Einzig die Griffschalen der M9A3 sind, wie beim Original, aus Kunststoff gefertigt. Das Griffstück der Beretta ist relativ schmal, bietet aber auch Platz für größere Hände. Leider sind, im Gegensatz zum Original, keine Wechselgriffschalen in verschiedenen Größen vorhanden. Dennoch liegt die Pistole schön in der Hand und hat einen tiefen Sitz. Am Boden des Griffstücks ist ein Haken zur Befestigung eines Lanyards angebracht. Der Beavertail der M9A3 legt sich angenehm auf den Handrücken. Der Magazinauswurf lässt sich leicht bedienen und das Magazin rastet mit einem spürbaren Klick sauber ein. Zudem kann man den Magazinauswurf auch für Linksschützen auf der anderen Seite montieren. Beim Abzug der M9A3 handelt es sich klassischerweise um einen Double-Action-Abzug. Spannt man den Abzug vor, so ist das Abzugsgewicht relativ gering. Der Reset ist spürbar, aber nicht allzu stark, dennoch ist eine schnelle Schussfolge möglich. Der Abzugsbügel ist, verglichen zu anderen Pistolen, sehr groß gehalten, sodass auch mit dicken Handschuhen geschossen werden kann. Der komplette Lower-Receiver ist aus Metall gefertigt und verfügt vor dem Abzugsbügel über eine drei-slot Rail-Schiene, sodass gängige LLM (Dummies) oder Scopecams angebracht werden können.
Der Schlitten ist ebenfalls komplett aus Metall gefertigt und verfügt im hinteren Teil über eine zwei-Stufen-Sicherung. Die Visierung ist im klassischen Dreipunkt-Stil gehalten und ermöglicht eine schnelle Zielerfassung. Am business-end des Laufes befindet sich ein Gewindeschutz, unter welchem sich ein 14mm-negativ Gewinde befindet, sodass bei Belieben ein Schalldämpfer oder Tracer angebracht werden kann.
Die Pistole lässt sich M9-typisch bedienerfreundlich und schnell zerlegen, sodass Putz- und Wartungsarbeiten schnell vollzogen sind. Das Hop-Up lässt sich durch ein Rädchen unterhalb der HU-Kammer einstellen. Intern verbaut KWC ausschließlich Metall-Komponenten, welcher der M9A3 Haltbarkeit verleihen. Wir empfehlen, die Pistole regelmäßig zu reinigen (alle 2-3 Spieltage) und beim Einsetzen einer neuen CO2-Kapsel etwas Silikon-Öl auf den Kapselkopf zu geben. Das Blow Back System der Pistole ist enorm kräftig und knackig, dies ist nicht zuletzt der Antriebsart der M9A3 zu schulden. Das Magazin der M9A3 fasst 22 Schuss. Die besten Ergebnisse erzielten wir bei der Verwendung von Umarex CO2-Kapseln und 0,28g BBs.
