The Härkila Heat Long Johns are made of 80% nylon and 20% spandex and are quick-drying, durable, and flexible. Thanks to the modern fit, they fit relatively snugly against the body. Integrated heat membranes are located in the areas of the lower body that are particularly sensitive to cold – in the lumbar region and directly above the knees. The membranes can be adjusted to 35, 43, or 50 °C via the press button on the waistband. Unlike older heating technologies, the heat membranes are flexible enough that the clothing can still be easily folded. Additionally, the long johns can be washed in the washing machine without any concerns. There is a fabric cable with a waterproof USB stick in the waistband, allowing a power bank to be connected if desired or needed. The fabric cable is long enough to comfortably store the power bank, for example, in a pocket. With a 10,000 mAh power bank, the Härkila Heat Long Johns can reach the highest temperature of 50 °C for about 7 hours at outside temperatures of 0 °C. To save power, the heat membranes automatically switch to standby mode when the long johns reach the desired temperature. They then turn back on by themselves if the temperature falls 1-2 degrees below the desired level, without you noticing. The Härkila Heat Long Johns thus have a temperature-regulating function: they automatically turn off when the body produces a lot of heat, for example, during high activity, and turn back on when you are standing still or sitting. Die Härkila Heat Long Johns besteht aus 80 % Nylon und 20 % Spandex und ist schnelltrocknend, strapazierfähig und flexibel. Dank der modernen Passform liegt sie verhältnismäßig eng am Körper an. An den Stellen des Unterkörpers, die besonders kälteempfindlich sind – im Lendenbereich und direkt über den Knien – befinden sich integrierte Wärmemembranen. Die Membranen lassen sich über den Druckknopf am Hosenbund auf 35, 43 oder 50 °C einstellen. Im Gegensatz zu älteren Wärmetechnologien sind die Wärmemembranen so flexibel, dass sich die Kleidung dennoch mühelos zusammenfalten lässt. Außerdem kann die lange Unterhose ohne Bedenken in der Waschmaschine gewaschen werden. Im Bund befindet sich ein Stoffkabel mit wasserdichtem USB-Stick, sodass auf Wunsch oder bei Bedarf eine Powerbank angeschlossen werden kann. Das Stoffkabel ist lang genug, um die Powerbank z. B. bequem in der Hosentasche aufbewahren zu können. Um Strom zu sparen, wechseln die Wärmemembranen automatisch in den Ruhemodus, wenn die lange Unterhose die gewünschte Temperatur erreicht hat. Anschließend schalten sie sich von selbst wieder ein, falls die Temperatur 1-2 Grad unter das gewünschte Niveau fällt, ohne dass man dies merkt. Die Härkila Heat Long Johns hat also eine wärmeregulierende Funktion: Sie schaltet sich automatisch ab, wenn der Körper bspw. bei hoher Aktivität viel Wärme produziert, und schaltet sich wieder ein, wenn man stillsteht oder -sitzt. Die lange Unterhose kann im mitgelieferten wasserdichten Drybag verstaut werden.
