Colt 1903 Hammerless Pocket Model Type III caliber .32 ACP. The weapon originates from the year 1924, serial number range 450150-457724, here SN 457658. Here are the changes of Type III: Elimination of the barrel bushing and addition of a lug at the bottom front end of the barrel (approx. serial #105,051 to 468,097) Elimination of the screw that retained the safety (approx. serial #114,700) Machining of the slide cutout further to the rear for easier disassembly (approx. serial #115,000 to 190,000) Lengthening of the takedown arrow (approx. serial #115,000 to 190,000) Elimination of feather marks Addition of straight Type III Colt lines and an elongated letter "C" behind the rampant colt (approx. serial #115,000 for .32 and 8000 for .380) Elimination of the elongated "C" behind the colt (approx. serial #160,000 for .32 and 16,000 for .380) Machining of a step in the side of the lower curved portion of the slide (1915, approx. serial #190,000 for .32 and 23,500 for .380) Striking of the last four digits of the serial number on the underside of the breech block (1919) Striking of the entire serial number on the underside of the breech block (by the end of 1919) Change to a squared post front sight (1920) Change in the curvature of the top surface of the slide for more room on the two flat sides (1921) Addition of a half-cock position to the hammer design (1922) Introduction of checkered walnut grips with a Colt medallion (approx. 1924, may have been available earlier as a special order) Extensive literature on the model with all changes available.
