Bei der Abgabe der verschiedenen Rufe ist immer darauf zu achten, dass der Luftstrom aus dem Bauch (nicht aus den Backen), einmal mehr, einmal weniger mit einem Rollen, ähnlich einem Gurgeln im Kehlkopf, unterstützt wird. So ensteht das typische "Krächzen". Mit der hohlen Hand können die einzelnen Rufe am Schalltrichter moduliert werden. [Sammelrufe zur Unterstützung bei der Jagd mit Lockkrähen] Drei bis vier kurze einsilbige Rufe hintereinander, signalisieren den Ruf einer sitzenden Krähe, bei diesem Ruf wird kein Rollen im Kehlkopf erzeugt:"graaa" "graaa" "graaa". Drei bis vier kurze, kräftige Rufe hintereinander gesetzt, signalisieren ebenfalls einen Sammelruf. Bei diesem Ruf kommt bereits das Krächzen aus dem Kehlkopf zum Einsatz: "kra-kra-kra" "kra-kra-kra" Ein weiterer Sammelruf: Zwei bis drei, in etwas größeren Abständen vorgetragene, langgezogene Krächzlaute, wiederum mit einem Rollen im Kehlkopf: "kraaaahh" "kraaaahh". Der Warnruf wird bei der Jagd mit Feindattrappen, wie Uhu, Habicht oder Fuchs eingesetzt. Den Warnruf bildet ein dreisilbiges "kraah" "kraaaaaa" "kraa", dabei wird die mittlere Silbe sehr kräftig, aggressiv und im Ton hoch angesetzt vorgetragen. Dieser aggressiv vorgetragene Ruf wird mit einem kräftigen Rollen aus dem Kehlkopf unterstützt. Die Tonhöhe kann durch mehr oder weniger starkes Blasen bestimmt werden. Das Entengeschnatter wird durch schwache, kurze, schnell hintereinander folgende Luftstöße erzeugt. Auch das typische "quaaaaaaa-quaaa-qua-qua-qua" der weiblichen Stockente, sowie das einsilbige "raaaaab-raaaaab" des Erpels, können spielend leicht nachgeahmt werden. Den Locker mit dem Mund (Lippen dabei einrollen), an der am Mundstück vorgesehenen Einkerbung festhalten (verhindert Speichelfluss) 2. Nun umfasst die Hand den Schalltrichter, so wird noch wesentlich mehr Lautstärke erreicht. 3. Durch mehr oder weniger Schließen bzw. Öffnen der hohlen Hand, können die verschiedenen Laute moduliert werden. Wichtig !! Die Luft darf nicht aus den Backen geblasen werden. Das Blasen ähnelt einem kräftigen Hauchen, wobei die Luft kräftig aus dem Bauch bzw. aus dem Zwerchfell gepresst wird.
