O.A.L gauge from Hornady, for measuring the seating depth in rifles with a cylindrical bolt and firearms with a straight access to the chamber.
To determine the correct seating depth and thus the optimal cartridge length when reloading,
it must be measured using an O.A.L gauge.
For this purpose, the O.A.L gauge from Hornady and separately available modified cases in the respective caliber as well as any bullets are pushed into the chamber.
Adjusting the cartridge length optimizes the non-rotational bullet path that the projectile must travel from the case into the rifled part of the barrel.
The measurement accuracy is 0.001 inch / 0.025 millimeter.

O.A.L Lehre von Hornady, zur Messung der Setztiefe bei Büchsen mit einem Zylinderverschluss und Waffen mit geradlinigem Zugang zum Patronenlager.
Um die richtige Setztiefe und damit die optimale Patronenlänge beim Wiederladen zu ermitteln,
muss diese mittels einer O.A.L Lehre gemessen werden.
Dazu wird die O.A.L Lehre von Hornady und separat erhältliche Modifizierte Hülsen im jeweiligem Kaliber sowie beliebige Geschosse in das Patronenlager geschoben.
Das Anpassen der Patronenlänge optimiert den rotationslosen Geschossweg, den das Projektil von der Hülse in den gezogenen Teil des Laufes zurücklegen muss.
Die Messgenauigkeit liegt bei 0.001 Zoll / 0,025 Millimeter.

Eine modifizierte Patronenhülse muss für jedes Kaliber separat bestellt werden.
