Die 6,5x57 ist als reine Jagdpatrone entwickelt worden und eignet sich vor allem für Reviere mit viel Rehwild und sporadisch auftretendem stärkerem Wild wie Muffel oder Damwild. Die Geschosspalette reicht vom leichten 6,0 g RWS Teilmantel-Spitzkopf-Geschoss bis zum schweren 9,1 g RWS Doppelkern-Geschoss.
